Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to develop data envelopment analysis (DEA) models and algorithms for efficiency improvement when the inputs and output weights are restricted and there is fixed availability of inputs in the system.
Design/methodology/approach
Limitation on availability of inputs is represented in the form of constant sum of inputs (CSOI) constraint. The amount of excess input of an inefficient decision-making unit (DMU) is redistributed among other DMUs in such a way so that there is no reduction in their efficiency. DEA models have been developed to design the optimum strategy to reallocate the excess input.
Findings
The authors have developed the method for reallocating the excess input among DMUs while under CSOI constraint and parameter weight restrictions. It has been shown that in this work to improve the efficiency of an inefficient DMU one needs the cooperation of selected few DMUs. The working of the models and results have been shown through a case study on carbon dioxide emissions of 32 countries.
Research limitations/implications
The limitation of the study is that only one DMU can expect to benefit from the application of these methods at any given time.
Practical implications
Results of the paper are useful in situations when decision maker is exploring the possibility of transferring the excess resources from underperforming DMUs to the other DMUs to improve the performance.
Originality/value
This strategy of reallocation of excess input will be very useful in situations when decision maker is exploring the possibility of transferring the excess resources from underperforming DMUs to the other DMUs to improve the performance. Unlike the existing works on efficiency improvement under CSOI, this work seeks to address the issue of efficiency improvement when the input/output parameter weights are also restricted.

Abstract
Purpose
In a quest to meet increasing pressure to incorporate environmental and sustainability factors due to the legislations and growing public awareness, companies are rethinking of strategizing their supply chain network to take control of the reverse flow of products as well. This growing interest has also led to tremendous growth in publications occurring in several reputed journals in the last few years. In this context, the purpose of this article is to perform a systematic literature survey of recent and state-of-the-art papers in order to draw insights and highlight the future directions.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper has selected and reviewed 204 papers published from the year 2002–2017. The papers were collected from the web of science and Google scholar database which have the DOI number. The selected papers were then categorized into main five core areas of RSC management namely reverse supply chain (RSC), Reverse Logistics (RL), Remanufacturing, Closed-Loop Supply Chain (CLSC) and Product Recovery Systems (PRS) and then analyzed with great detail. Finally, the research gaps that were identified from the study have been highlighted for future research opportunities.
Findings
This paper would serve as a roadmap to the managers who wish to align their forward and reverse supply chains for overall growth and development. It provides an in-depth knowledge on RSC to the researchers working in this domain. The scholars would be able to identify the areas of RSC which have been already addressed and the areas which remain unaddressed.
Originality/value
This paper presents a systematic literature survey of state-of-the-art papers that was published in the reputed journal in the area of RSC. Total 204 numbers of papers which were published in the reputed journals between 2002 and 2017 are reviewed, categorized and analysed to draw the opportunities and future research direction in the area of RSC.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this research is to study and examine the influence of systematic supply risk management (SRM) on the buyer's firm performance, mainly focussing on the Indian electronics industry.
Design/methodology/approach
The study has framed a set of hypotheses on the risk management model. A thorough literature review and experts' opinion were considered in framing constructs and hypothesis for the model. We adopted self-administration questionnaires mainly focusing on the Indian electronics industry. The derived hypothesis is tested using partial least squares (PLS) method from 140 survey data pertaining to small, medium and large scale industries.
Findings
Study justify that constructs with high loadings for risk identification, risk assessment, risk reduction, and risk monitoring supports all hypothesized relation to better risk management. The model captures superior risk identification, risk control and risk monitoring for overall firm performance, but fails to justify with organization supply risk assessment process on overall firm performance.
Research limitations/implications
The study mainly focused on SRM process on firm performance. Study mainly focused on single survey responses and expert's perceptions on SRM practices in Indian electronics industry.
Practical implications
Research empirically justifies the effects of SRM process on organization performance. Furthermore, effective SRM practices assist decision makers framing corrective strategies to mitigate risk occurrences and their negative impact.
Originality/value
This empirical work provides a deep understanding of SRM process on the Indian electronics industry and their perception towards firm performance. Moreover, this is one of the few empirical studies addressing SRM practices in the Indian electronics industry.

The normal mode analysis is used to obtain the analytical expressions of the displacement components, force stress and temperature distribution.
Findings
The numerical results are given and presented graphically when mechanical/thermal source is applied.

Comparisons are made in the presence and absence of hydrostatic initial stress and rotation and their effect is shown graphically.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to study the deformation of a rotating generalized thermoelastic medium with two temperatures under hydrostatic initial stress subjected to different types of sources.
Design/methodology/approach
The methodology applied here is the use of integral transforms to obtain the components of displacement, force stress, conductive temperature and temperature distribution in Laplace and Fourier domain. The general solution obtained is applied to a specific problem of a half‐space subjected to concentrated force, uniformly distributed force and a moving source. These components are then obtained in the physical domain by applying a numerical inversion method. Some particular cases are also discussed in the context of the problem. The results obtained are also presented graphically to show the effect of rotation and gravity.
Findings
The variations of all the quantities and for all the mediums are similar for concentrated force and distributed forces applied along the free surface of the solid. The values of these quantities are very close to each other for GTES and GTESWG. Deformation of a body depends on the nature of force applied as well as the type of boundary conditions. The variations of all the quantities are more uniform in nature when a force of constant magnitude moves along the surface of solid with some velocity.
Originality/value
Such types of problems in rotating media will find great applications in many dynamical systems and industries.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to analyse technological and regulatory issues arising from the introduction of TV services on mobile handsets.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper looks at the various technological solutions to the provision of mobile TV and records the progress to date of trials of these technologies. It also examines the regulatory framework in the EU and certain individual countries and analyses the effects of spectrum shortages.
Findings
The paper finds that the existence of competing, incompatible technologies, the constraints on the availability of suitable spectrum, the issue of what content to broadcast and the difficulties of persuading customers to pay for it are holding back the widespread dissemination of mobile TV, but only on a temporary basis.
Originality/value
This paper is the first detailed attempt to investigate this topic.
