Two new bevel gear machines have recently been introduced by Maag to solve some of the problems normally associated with the production of accurate bevel gears. These are the Maag bevel gear grinding machine type KS42 and its associated measuring machine type K.P42.

Most studies on Sentiment Analysis are performed in English. However, as the third most spoken language on the Internet, Sentiment Analysis for Spanish presents its challenges from a semantic and syntactic point of view. This review presents a scope of the recent advances in this area.

A systematic literature review on Sentiment Analysis for the Spanish language was conducted on recognized databases by the research community.

Results show classification systems through three different approaches: Lexicon based, Machine Learning based and hybrid approaches. Additionally, different linguistic resources as Lexicon or corpus explicitly developed for the Spanish language were found.

This study provides academics and professionals, a review of advances in Sentiment Analysis for the Spanish language. Most reviews on Sentiment Analysis are for English, and other languages such as Chinese or Arabic, but no updated reviews were found for Spanish.

The purpose of this paper is to devote the optimal substitution of slip rings through an inductive power transfer system for field winding supply of generators or motors with a wound rotor. By a rotational pot-core transformer approach, the rotor-side energizing of the excitation windings can be provided isolated and free of wear.

For design purpose, an analytical model of the inductive link and the compensation network elements is shown. Based on a pot-core transformer approach, possible types of compensation networks regarding motor-specific constraints were carried out and compared among themselves by parameter studies. The analytical parts of the model were subsequently validated with measured data of an appropriate core and accompanying FEM calculations. On the basis of an experimental prototype system, the approach has been tested both stationary and transient.

The publication exemplifies how a brushless excitation system for generators and motors can be inexpensively designed and implemented.

This paper systematically presents a comprehensive analytical approach for brushless excitation systems as well as a prototypical system. Compensation network elements regarding motor-specific constraints were carried out and compared among themselves by parameter studies.

The purpose of this paper is to identify, classify and analyse temporality in information systems development (ISD) literature.

The authors address the temporality and ISD research gap by using a framework – which classifies time into three categories: conceptions of time, mapping activities to time and actors relating to time. The authors conduct a systematic literature review which investigates time in ISD within the Senior Scholars' Basket, Information Technology & People (IT&P), and top two information systems conferences over the past 20 years. The search strategy resulted in 9,850 studies of which 47 were identified as primary papers.

The results reveal that ISD research is ill equipped for contemporary thinking around time. This systematic literature review (SLR) contributes to ISD by finding the following gaps in the literature: (1) clock time is dominant and all other types of time are under-researched; (2) contributions to mapping activities to time is lacking and existing studies focus on single ISD projects rather multiple complex ISD projects; (3) research on actors relating to time is lacking; (4) existing ISD studies which contribute to temporal characteristics are fragmented and lack integration with other categories of time and (5) ISD methodology papers lack contributions to temporal characteristics and fail to acknowledge and contribute to time as a multifaceted interrelated concept.

This work has developed the first SLR on temporality in ISD. This study provides a starting point for ISD researchers and ISD practitioners to test commonly held temporal assumptions of ISD researchers and practitioners.

The purpose of this research is to investigate user comprehension of ambiguous terminology in password rules. Although stringent password policies are in place to protect information system security, such complexity does not have to mean ambiguity for users. While many aspects of passwords have been studied, no research to date has systematically examined how ambiguous terminology affects user comprehension of password rules.

This research used a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods in a usable security study with 60 participants. Study tasks contained password rules based on real-world password requirements. Tasks consisted of character-selection tasks that varied the terms for non-alphanumeric characters to explore users’ interpretations of password rule language, and compliance-checking tasks to investigate how well users can apply their understanding of the allowed character space.

Results show that manipulating password rule terminology causes users’ interpretation of the allowed character space to shrink or expand. Users are confused by the terms “non-alphanumeric”, “symbols”, “special characters” and “punctuation marks” in password rules. Additionally, users are confused by partial lists of allowed characters using “e.g.” or “etc.”

This research provides data-driven usability guidance on constructing clearer language for password policies. Improving language clarity will help usability without sacrificing security, as simplifying password rule language does not change security requirements.

This is the first usable security study to systematically measure the effects of ambiguous password rules on user comprehension of the allowed character space.

This study explored young males' suggestions for food skills education in three domains: food selection and planning, food preparation and food safety and storage. It also solicited young males' perspectives on mandatory food skills education.

This descriptive qualitative study employed a semi-structured interview guide. A one-page list of food skills was provided to each participant to form a consistent basis for the interviews. Data were analyzed using the constant comparative method.

Forty-four young men aged 17 to 35 participated in the study. Thirty-seven supported mandatory education for food skills. Gender stereotypes around food skills were identified as a barrier to young males enrolling in elective food skills courses. When asked how food skills should be taught, the two main strategies mentioned were “online” and “hands-on.” Most participants identified skills in the food preparation domain as essential to include in the curriculum, although some recognized the importance of incorporating skills from all three domains.

Understanding important characteristics of effective food skills education for young males may increase their participation in school, virtual and community-based food skills education. Curricular content should consider young males' interests and baseline competencies and emphasize practical hands-on skills. Mandatory food skills education in secondary schools for all genders represents a comprehensive solution.

This study is among the first to report young males' opinions on crucial components of, and methods for, effective food skills education for this population.

This article is based on a contribution to a national conference held in April 2003 entitled ‘After Victoria: Learning from Experience and Research’. It aims to look beyond the focus of child protection in the Laming Report (2003), and suggests that the goal of inter‐professional care in ethnically diverse communities may encounter some particular barriers because of race. The article's purpose is to evaluate critically, against established research evidence, what impact ethnicity had on the way Victoria was perceived and assessed by the different professionals and organisations involved in her short life in England, before she died. The themes include the problems of working with individuals and families who are not habitually resident in the UK, the complexities of challenging people from minority ethnic backgrounds, the difficulties of using interpreters, the challenges in assessing minority ethnic families, and intra‐ and inter‐agency tensions in work with such families. All these themes are contextualised within the evidence available in the Laming Report. The article is intended to help organisations and staff understand some of the complexities concerning ethnicity and collaborative working, with the hope of an improvement in practice and policy.

This study extends prior research by proposing a more complete model of the process by which budget slack is created in the organization. The research model proposed in this study suggests that there is an ex-ante as well as an ex-post process by which budget slack is created. In the ex-ante process, environmental uncertainty and budget participation are linked to managers’ propensity to create slack through job-relevant information (JRI). In the ex-post process, the control system determines the slack in the final budget by providing information to superiors about a manager’s performance capability. Thus, the propensity to create slack determines actual slack to the extent that the organization’s control system fails to provide an effective assessment of the manager’s performance capability.

Contrary to expectations, the ex-ante model indicated that participation has a direct, negative effect on propensity to create slack. The largest effect on propensity to create slack, however, was a direct positive link from environmental uncertainty. In the ex-post process, the link between propensity to create slack and segment slack (actual slack created) was moderated by the organization’s control system capabilities. When propensity to create slack is low (high), control system monitoring has little (a great) effect on segment slack created. This finding is consistent with arguments that publicly available information about a manager’s performance capability motivates a higher budget standard.
