The paper aims to build the relationship between an entire function of restricted hyper-order with its linear c-shift operator.
Abstract
Purpose
The paper aims to build the relationship between an entire function of restricted hyper-order with its linear c-shift operator.
Design/methodology/approach
Standard methodology for papers in difference and shift operators and value distribution theory have been used.
Findings
The relation between an entire function of restricted hyper-order with its linear c-shift operator was found under the periphery of sharing a set of two small functions IM (ignoring multiplicities) when exponent of convergence of zeros is strictly less than its order. This research work is an improvement and extension of two previous papers.
Originality/value
This is an original research work.

Abstract
Genetic algorithm (GA) is a model of machine learning. The algorithm can be used to find sub‐optimum, if not optimum, solution(s) to a particular problem. It explores the solution space in an intelligent manner to evolve better solutions. The algorithm does not need any specific programming efforts but requires encoding the solution as strings of parameters. The field of application of genetic algorithms has increased dramatically in the last few years. A large variety of possible GA application tools now exist for non‐computer specialists. Complicated problems in a specific optimization domain can be tackled effectively with a very modest knowledge of the theory behind genetic algorithms. This paper reviews the technique briefly and applies it to solve some of the optimization problems addressed in construction management literature. The lessons learned from the application of GA to these problems are discussed. The result of this review is an indication of how the GA can contribute in solving construction‐related optimization problems. A summary of general guidelines to develop solutions using this optimization technique concludes the paper.

Abstract
Aims to provide an analytical framework investigating the accumulation of human capital in an OLG framework characterized by a continuous interplay between human capital distribution and individual choice of accumulation. This leads to a wide variety of dynamics. Generally, more equal economies tend to accumulate a higher human capital but other cases are possible. The accumulation is characterized by bimodality or multimodality in the human capital distribution and by an endogenous poverty trap.

Abstract
Purpose
The paper presents the Finite Element (FE) evaluation of the magnetic field emitted by a Wireless Power Transfer Systems used to charge the battery of electrical vehicles. An original approach for reducing the mesh size of the 3D FE model is used.
Design/methodology/approach
A minicar equipped with a circular coil is considered, while the transmitting coil is coherent with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standard. The different shape of the coils and a possible misalignment are considered as possible sources of emitted magnetic field, which a person could be exposed to. To this end, a FE model is implemented. Because of the complexity of the mesh, a suitable 3D model is used. This model is previously validated and then used for evaluating the magnetic field around the Wireless Power Transfer Systems (WPTS).
Findings
The magnetic flux density around the WPTS is calculated and compared with the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) limits.
Originality/value
The proposed 3D model, whose validation is shown in the paper, is able to compute the magnetic field with high accuracy despite the presence of a conductive and ferromagnetic thin structure, the steel layer related to the car frame, which would need a very fine mesh with a large number of elements to solve Maxwell equations.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to suggest that the effects of service quality (SQ) on outcome variables may shift over time. However, scant attention has been paid to capturing that shift. The current study uses the theory of relationship dynamics to capture the rate and direction of change in the effects of SQ attributes on customer satisfaction (CS) and emotional attachment (EA). For this purpose, the study takes CS-velocity and EA-velocity as dynamic outcomes of SQ.
Design/methodology/approach
A sample of 306 restaurant consumers responded to a structured questionnaire at three points in time. Confirmatory factor analysis was carried out, followed by analysis of the data through latent growth curve modeling using MPlus (Version 8.1).
Findings
SQ attributes positively affect CS and EA, but these effects diminish over time, as SQ attributes negatively influence CS-velocity and EA-velocity. In addition, the study demonstrates that dynamic elements strongly impact behavioral intentions (BI).
Practical implications
The study enables service and relationship marketing managers to better understand the role of SQ attributes in maintaining longitudinal satisfaction, attachment and BI. The insights from this longitudinal investigation help managers to formulate long-term service management and relationship management strategies.
Originality/value
This study is the first attempt to examine SQ’s dynamic outcomes using longitudinal panel data. It is the first study to introduce EA-velocity as a dynamic construct of EA and the first to examine the relationships of CS-velocity and EA-velocity with BI.
