Abstract
Purpose
The relevance of digital technology and knowledge management (KM) has been increasing continuously owing to their importance in sustainability. However, research on which technology leads to collaboration in KM and how it affects sustainability is lacking. Therefore, this study aims to analyze knowledge collaboration management technologies for sustainable growth based on academic literature and technology patents.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper analyzed current technology and academic trends in KM using BERTopic, an artificial intelligence natural language processing model, and proposed future promising candidate technologies and potential application areas in terms of collaboration and sustainability.
Findings
From the textual data of research papers and patents, this paper extracted 10 and 47 major topics, respectively. Moreover, five potential and feasible candidate patents along with their applicable fields were recommended.
Originality/value
The strength of this study is its analysis of the technologies affecting collaboration and sustainability in KM. This paper found that new digital technologies (i.e. artificial intelligence, cloud computing and big data) impact organizations’ KM and have the potential for collaboration. Digital technologies have a positive impact on corporate smartness directly and sustainability and inclusion indirectly. This paper argued that organizations should understand and identify various promising technological factors and apply them to their KM from a collaboration perspective.

Abstract
Purpose
Technological tools for knowledge management (KM) actively support and enhance knowledge acquisition and sharing in organizations. However, technology for KM has been understudied, especially in terms of disruptive technologies (DTs). There is a need to identify how DTs, which are becoming increasingly important in industry and society, are applied to KM and their impact. This paper aims to examine the current state of technology and DT adoption in KM.
Design/methodology/approach
The analysis involves four steps. First, we examine the current status of DT in academia through a keyword co-occurrence network of literature. Second, we analyze the technological convergence (TC) of KM technology through the cooperative patent classification code co-classification analysis of patents. Third, we explore the main topics of KM technologies using BERTopic, and finally, we explore the introduction of DT into KM technologies and suggest potential TC combinations for the future.
Findings
KM technologies can be categorized into four main topics (knowledge acquisition, sharing, searching, and transfer), and DT is most often applied to knowledge transfer and acquisition. The DTs that are attracting attention from academia and industry are artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, and blockchain, which have applications in healthcare, supply chain management, and human resource management.
Originality/value
The findings provide useful insights for organizations to build a technology roadmap for KM. They can also improve the rigid mindset of organization employees toward DT adoption and innovation. By adopting a KM system that leverages DT, organizations will be able to manage and operate efficiently and systematically.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this research is to empirically analyse the structure of the Web 2.0 service network and the mechanism behind its evolution over time.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the list of Web 2.0 services and their mashups that is provided on Programmableweb, a network of Web 2.0 services was constructed. Within this network a node represents a Web 2.0 service with an open API, and a link between two nodes represents the existence of a mashup service that uses the two nodes.
Findings
The findings suggest that the evolution of the Web 2.0 service network follows the preferential attachment rule although the exponent of the preferential attachment is lower than for other networks following a preferential attachment rule. Additionally the results indicate that the Web 2.0 service network evolves to a scale‐free network but the exponent of the power law distribution is lower than for other networks.
Originality/value
The research applied social network analysis to the Web 2.0 service network. It showed that its network structure and the evolution mechanism are different from those found in similar areas, e.g. the world wide web (WWW). The findings imply that there are factors which lower the exponent of the preferential attachment equation and the power law distribution of the degree centralities.
Research limitation/implications
This paper did not investigate the factors responsible for the low values of the exponent of the preferential attachment equation and the exponent of the power law distribution. However, it is suggested that it could be correlated with the fact that the interconnection between nodes depends on the property of the nodes.
