Abstract
Purpose
Enterprise innovation depends on the innovative behaviour of employees. The relationship between leaders and employees has a significant impact on employees' attitudes and behaviours. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to explore how a good leader–member relationship (LMR) motivates employees' innovative behaviour.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on 316 questionnaires completed by the members of 53 organisations, SPSS 25.0, Mplus 8.0 and HLM 6.08 were used to analyse the internal mechanisms of LMRs and employees' innovative behaviour.
Findings
The study identified the following findings: first, LMR was positively correlated with employees' innovative behaviour; second, perceived supervisor support and followership behaviour played mediating roles between leader–member relationship and employees' innovative behaviour and third, organisational political climate was negatively correlated with employees' innovative behaviour and played a moderating role in the relationship between LMR and employees' innovative behaviour.
Originality/value
The results of this study have clarified the transmission mechanism between LMRs and employees' innovative behaviour while providing useful references for improving the effectiveness of human resource management in organisations.

Abstract
Purpose
Overqualification is a growing concern for employers in many countries. The practice of mismatching employees and positions inevitably leads to an increase in organizational training and management costs. This study can not only further enrich the theoretical achievements in the field of human resource management, but can also provide a reference for enterprise managers on how to effectively stimulate employees' innovative behaviour.
Design/methodology/approach
503 questionnaire responses were analysed using SPSS 24.0 and Mplus 8.0.
Findings
It was concluded that, (1) perceived overqualification is negatively related to employees' innovation behaviour (β = −0.32, p < 0.001); (2) psychological contract breach and psychological distance partially mediate the relationship between perceived overqualification and employees' innovation behaviour. Among them, the mediating effect of psychological contract breach was −0.14 (p < 0.01), and that of psychological distance was −0.12 (p < 0.001); the chain-mediating effect of psychological contract breach and psychological distance was −0.09 (p < 0.01); (3) employment relationship atmosphere played a moderating role in the relationship between perceived overqualification and employees' innovation behaviour (β = 0.04, p < 0.01).
Originality/value
This study verifies the negative impact of perceived overqualification on employee innovation behaviour and reveals the mediating role of psychological factors between the two. It also discusses the moderating effect of employment relationship climate on the relationship between perceived overqualification and employees' innovation behaviour.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to study friction and wear properties of three types of steels against paper-based friction disc, including 65Mn, 20#steel and 30CrAl, so as to obtain the appropriate working conditions for different friction materials in the transmission system.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on actual working conditions, pin-on-disc tests are conducted on a universal material tester. The two evaluation indexes, including average friction coefficient and variation coefficient, are introduced to analyze the different friction properties among three types of steel. Furthermore, the temperature-dependent wear pattern and wear depth are subsequently studied.
Findings
The results show that 65Mn is more suitable for working under heavy load and low velocity, but 30CrAl and 20#steel are suitable for working under light load and high velocity. Moreover, wear primarily occurs on paper-based material and peaks at about 325.
Practical implications
This research of different materials and friction property for friction pairs is helpful to improve the performance and prolong the service life of transmission systems.
Originality/value
Suitable working conditions of different friction materials are obtained, and the correlation between wear and decomposition in high temperature is verified.

The purpose of this paper is to explore challenges and opportunities in knowledge management (KM) research trends in China.
Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to explore challenges and opportunities in knowledge management (KM) research trends in China.
Design/methodology/approach
The literature review presents the status quo of China KM research from a world‐wide perspective and China's economy today. Then the paper explains theoretical analysis of KM development and future trend in the West. The third part of literature review addresses the debate of KM practices followed by the way how KM trend is discussed in Western research. Empirical evidences from the journal literature, the web sites of consultancy companies, and in the presentation of research centres are examined. A triangulated methodology include data from two well known management database searching results for “China” and “Knowledge Management”; two KM surveys in China and other web site and journals.
Findings
The paper is an initial exploration of the KM research trends in China. The research explains the opportunities and challenges facing KM researchers and provides useful guidance for KM practice in China. In general, China has relatively newly developed KM awareness. The importance of KM, however, has not yet been fully explored in research. One the one hand, the lack of access to China practitioners, the scarceness of related comparative study and the arguable KM domain are three major reasons that lead to insufficient research in KM. On the other hand, given the rapid development of China's economy today, there are questions and phenomena with specific Chinese characters need to be examined from KM perspective. Two major challenges of China economy, i.e. reforming in the process of development, and the privatization as well as the regional difference need to be reflected in China KM research. Comparative approaches in the research are needed. Although KM is arguably undergoing fast development in recently years and China is becoming one of the important spotlights, China‐related KM research is still at its very early stage. Challenges and opportunities are presented for further research guidance.
Originality/value
This paper shows that KM research in China has its own characters if compare with the West. Future directions and opportunities for China‐related KM researches are discussed by a triangulated approach. The findings present future trends of KM research in China that help practitioner to reinforce KM practice. This paper suggests important areas that researchers need to address as new challenges and opportunities in the KM trends in China context.

Abstract
Purpose
In armored vehicles integrated transmissions, residual life prediction based on oil spectrum data is crucial for condition monitoring and reliability assessment. This paper aims to use the advantages of real-time and accurate prediction of binary Wiener process, the residual life prediction of clutch is studied.
Design/methodology/approach
First, combined with the wet clutch life test, the indicator elements Cu and Pb and the failure threshold of the residual life prediction of the clutch are extracted through the oil replacement correction of the spectral data of the whole life cycle; second, the correlation characteristics of indicating elements are analyzed by MATLAB Copula function, then the correlation function of residual life will be derived; third, according to the inverse Gaussian principle, the performance degradation mathematical models of the unary and binary Wiener processes of the above two indicator elements are established; finally, the maximum likelihood estimation method is used to estimate the parameters, and the monadic and binary performance degradation mathematical models are used to predict the residual life of the tested clutch.
Findings
By comparing the prediction results with the test results, with the passage of time, 81.25% of the predicted value error of the residual life prediction method based on the binary Wiener process is controlled within 20%, while 56.25% of the predicted value error of the residual life prediction method based on the unitary Wiener process is controlled within 20%. At the same time, the prediction accuracy of the binary prediction model is 2%–16.7% higher than that of the unitary prediction model.
Originality/value
This paper studies the residual life prediction theory of wet clutch, which can develop the theory and method of comprehensive transmission health monitoring, and provide theoretical and technical support for the construction of a reliable health management system for high-speed tracked vehicles.
