Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to present the status of the on-going development of the new computerized environment for aircraft synthesis and integrated optimization methods (CEASIOM) and to compare results of different aerodynamic tools. The concurrent design of aircraft is an extremely interdisciplinary activity incorporating simultaneous consideration of complex, tightly coupled systems, functions and requirements. The design task is to achieve an optimal integration of all components into an efficient, robust and reliable aircraft with high performance that can be manufactured with low technical and financial risks, and has an affordable life-cycle cost.
Design/methodology/approach
CEASIOM (www.ceasiom.com) is a framework that integrates discipline-specific tools like computer-aided design, mesh generation, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), stability and control analysis and structural analysis, all for the purpose of aircraft conceptual design.
Findings
A new CEASIOM version is under development within EU Project AGILE (www.agile-project.eu), by adopting the CPACS XML data-format for representation of all design data pertaining to the aircraft under development.
Research limitations/implications
Results obtained from different methods have been compared and analyzed. Some differences have been observed; however, they are mainly due to the different physical modelizations that are used by each of these methods.
Originality/value

Abstract
The following list is a first attempt to catalogue and describe systematically the British Museum's extensive holdings of early opera librettos and related plays. The great importance of these unpretentious booklets as supplementary and, more often than not, even primary sources for the history and bibliography of dramatic music, besides or instead of the scores, was already clearly recognized in the eighteenth century by Dr. Burney and other scholars. But it is only since 1914, the year in which O. G. T. Sonneck's Library of Congress Catalogue of opera librettos printed before 1800 appeared, that their documentary value could to any greater extent be put to general use in international musicological research. A similar bibliography of the British Museum librettos, while naturally duplicating many Washington entries, would produce a great number of additional tides, not a few of them otherwise unrecorded; it would provide the musical scholar with the key to a collection unequalled elsewhere in Europe, which owing to the peculiar nature of the material is not easily accessible by means of the General Catalogue.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the physical mechanisms of the use of active flow control (AFC) for a high-lift wing-flap configuration.
Design/methodology/approach
By means of high-fidelity numerical simulations, the flow dynamics around a high-lift wing-flap system at high Reynolds number (Re/c = 4.6 million) is studied. Adapted turbulence models based on the URANS approach are used to capture the flow separation and the subsequent development of coherent structures. The present study focuses on the use of AFC using a synthetic jet known as zero-net-mass-flux (ZNMF) using the blowing–suction approach. Different parameters (geometry, frequency and velocity) of a ZNMF placed at the cambered flap’s chord are optimized to obtain the most efficient parameter settings to suppress the flow separation.
Findings
A synthetic jet with the optimal shape and orientation enforces the flow reattachment on the wing-flap surface. This leads to an improvement of the aerodynamic performance of the system. The wake thickness was reduced by 30%, and an increase of 17.6% in lift-to-drag ratio was obtained. Concerning the ZNMF location, they should be installed upstream of the separation point to achieve the best performance.
Originality/value
The effectiveness of ZNMF devices integrated on a high-lift wing-flap configuration was studied in real flight conditions at high Reynolds number. A detailed analysis of the wake dynamics explains how AFC forces the reattachment of the boundary layer and attenuates the predominant wake instabilities up to −20 dB.

Abstract
Purpose
Sustainability intelligence is critical for the prosperity of societies worldwide, for conservation of the natural world, for achieving future business success and for the credibility of the concept of sustainability itself. This study aims to present the concept of sustainability intelligence by expounding on three proposed enablers shaping this concept – self-awareness, global perspective and societal consciousness. The main point of this paper is to conduct inquiry into the topic, gather information on enablers for sustainability intelligence and share that information with readers.
Design/methodology/approach
This study collected information from a pool of respondents to answer this research question: Which enablers are imperative to pursue sustainability intelligence? By using a sustainability intelligence questionnaire (SIQ), the authors argue why these enablers could bring about large-scale sustainable transformation and new insights about sustainable practices. The SIQ consists of 15 statements from strongly disagree to strongly agree, with five scale points, exploring the three enablers.
Findings
The findings show that the respondents gave the greatest importance to societal consciousness, followed by global perspective and then self-awareness as important enablers for sustainability intelligence. In line with previous studies, it is worth noting these enablers have reciprocal reinforcing relationships. While the proposed enablers for sustainability intelligence could prove a helpful catalyst, the authors believe it is necessary to secure an ongoing incisive critical approach towards enablers and competencies needed to positively impact the sustainable development goals.
Research limitations/implications
We acknowledge there are some limitations using the current methodology. There is for example no control group. Also, this survey was only a-posteriori. It would be useful to execute a survey before the start of the academic year. Although we received some qualitative feedback linked to our research questions, it would be useful to add more in-depth qualitative research, by executing interviews with students. With these limitations, we recognize some room for improvement in our methodology.
Originality/value
This paper explores the wider practical implications of the sustainability intelligence enablers. The further development of the SIQ which might serve as an instrument that provides individual reports that highlight their unique skills and opportunities to shape a better world.

Abstract
During the interwar period, the Netherlands experienced a phase of rapid industrialization and mechanization and saw the introduction of many new labor-saving techniques on the shop floor. This process, which went under the name “rationalization of production,” caused great concern in the labor movement and sparked an intensive debate over the existence and extent of technological (or permanent) unemployment. Although the problem of technological unemployment was denied by the mainstream economists of the day, the problem was addressed by left-wing, mathematically trained economists such as Theo van der Waerden and Jan Tinbergen. They sought for rigorous “scientific” arguments that would convince policymakers, colleagues, and the public of socialist employment policies.
This chapter shows that van der Waerden and Tinbergen used ever-increasing formal methods to face the issue of rationalization, which became politically relevant and controversial in the specific context of the interwar period. Their new scientific tools gave them esteem and influence. In their role as advisers to the government, they gained influence and were able to recommend policies that were in accordance with their political beliefs.

Introduction: The growing body of research on employee engagement (EE) has resulted in a new human resource management paradigm. Human resource management researchers are investigating how EE can help with employee retention in higher education.
Purpose: The purpose of this chapter was to determine the quantity, growth trend, global distribution, top journals and authors, dominant countries, and dominant subject areas in EE in the higher education sector.
Methodology: The researcher employed a bibliometric analysis technique using VOS viewer software on one of the worldwide used databases, Scopus. Four combinations of the words were combined in this work using the logical operators TITLE-ABS-KEY (‘Employee engagement’ AND ‘Higher education’ OR ‘Higher educational institutions’ OR ‘universities’), thereby broadening the scope. This bibliometric analysis analysed 139 documents on EE scholarship.
Findings/Practical Implications: EE in higher education is still a developing phenomenon; this review aims to educate and inform contemporary researchers by providing an overview of the field’s current state.

A first exploration of the impact of blockchain on real estate in the Netherlands took place in 2017. In the follow-up, several blockchain and real estate studies have appeared with research on real estate and blockchain worldwide. In view of the previous research, the question remained as to what is now happening worldwide in the field of blockchain and real estate. This has resulted in the start-up of the Foundation for International Blockchain and Real Estate Expertise (FIBREE) network. This network has led to the launch of two investigations: Industry Report Blockchain Real Estate 2019 on exploration of international products and a database exploring blockchain and real estate on exploring (inter)national research. This paper aims to provides an overview and analysis of all relevant scientific publications – targeted on the Netherlands – and does so within a context of a first small international exploration of international research, experts and products – in particular land registration.

But the big question is how quickly blockchain will develop as well as all its applications.

Purpose
The study aims to explain the communicative basis of conflicts in which actors stand in opposition in defining a negotiated situation and to deepen knowledge of environmental conflict development, in particular on how frames are (re)shaped through discursive choices in interaction.
Design/methodology/approach
This study adopts an interactional approach to framing and 1) identifies the frames shaped and reshaped in four environmental debates and 2) analyzes how framing activities affect the course of the debates.
Findings
This study contributes to understanding 1) the interactive nature of conflicts; 2) how the reception and interpretation of issue framing depends on the surrounding identity and characterization framing and 3) how framing activities, like identity work, emotional alignment and reframing, can affect the course of environmental debates toward polarizing or bridging.
Research limitations/implications
On a methodological level, this study contributes to communication research by applying methodologies for investigating framing processes on a micro-level. This study investigates interactional framing, considering the perspectives of frame strategists engaging in issue arenas. The study provides an in-depth discourse analysis of the debates but lacks an overview on the entire issue arena regarding this conflict.
Practical implications
Skilled actors span boundaries by articulating issue frames that accommodate opponents' concerns and values while demonstrating the added value of the new frame, adjusting identity work in favor of relations with opponents. Furthermore, calibrating emotional intensity offers opportunities to mobilize support.
Originality/value
This research investigates which communicative competences are essential to act adequately in environmental conflicts, given their intractable nature, and suggests opportunities for cocreation by making discursive choices. This approach helps to uncover the micro-processes that escalate and de-escalate a conflict.

Need for the Study: The current study maps the literature regarding AI and ML in the insurance sector through bibliometric tools to identify the significant gaps in the available literature, considerable insights that emerged, and a scientific evaluation of AI and ML in the Insurance sector.
Methodology: The VOS viewer method was used to conduct the depth and quantitative analysis of the AI and ML in Insurance. The study of 450 articles has been retrieved through the Scopus database from 2012 to 2021. The implication of performance analysis methods has helped to explore influential journals, authors, countries, Keywords, and affiliations, elevating the literature in AI and the Insurance Sector.
Finding: This study conducts an exploratory analysis and identifies the prominent authors, sources, countries, affiliations, and articles using modern bibliometric analysis (BA) tools. The geographic scattering of the study indicates that the USA and the UK have highly influential publications and contribute to AI and Insurance. East and Southern Asia countries are far behind.
Practical Implication: Furthermore, this chapter can be used as a reference paper to explore the new field of study in the insurance sector using AI. The search criteria were set in the study to limit the sample published papers/articles included in Scopus data based on the AI and ML in Insurance.
