Abstract
The data sample used in this study is composed of 2,638 Chinese tourists who have travel experiences to the South Pacific region. This study examines the effects of memorable tourism experiences, destination cognitive and affective images, and satisfaction on revisit intention and their mechanisms from a cognitive–affective perspective. Results show that destination cognitive image, destination affective image, and satisfaction, respectively, play a mediating effect on the relationship between memorable tourism experiences and revisit intention. Memorable tourism experience is the most important predictor of revisit intention, and it mainly affects the cognitive image of a destination. In line with previous studies, this research has shown that memorable tourism experiences have significant impact on the destination image and tourists' revisit intention, which can provide significant implications for tourism practitioners and destination managers in the South Pacific islands.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to better understand tourists’ revisit intention from their perspectives of past and expected experience and to investigate whether the formation of revisit intention differs between tourists from different nationalities.
Design/methodology/approach
The sample consisted of 250 Indonesian tourists who have visited Australia and 275 Australian tourists who have visited Indonesia. The data were analysed by conducting structural equation modelling and multi-group analysis with group comparisons.
Findings
Indonesian tourists’ intention to revisit Australia was influenced by past feeling experience and expected experience, while Australian tourists’ intention to revisit Indonesia was influenced by past feeling and relating experiences and expected experience. Both samples differ significantly in terms of relations between experiences and revisit intention. The relationship between past thinking experience and revisit intention was positive for Indonesians but negative for Australians. The relationship between past relating and expected experience was positive for Australians but negative for Indonesians. In addition, the influence of expected experience on revisit intention was stronger for Australian than Indonesian tourists.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study, for the first time, enriches tourism literature in understanding revisit intention by investigating revisit intention in relation to both past and expected experiences, along with examining nationality differences in the revisit intention formation.

Abstract
Purpose
This research explores the antecedents of tourist satisfaction and revisit intention, especially in light of the post-pandemic environment that pushed tourism to the lowest level in the present decade. A comprehensive conceptual model based on the brand equity theory (BET) is developed, and interrelationships between brand heritage, community support and benefits, hedonism, culture, tourist satisfaction and revisit intention.
Design/methodology/approach
The data were collected from 670 tourists visiting one of the heritage destinations in southern India (Kanchipuram). After checking the psychometric properties of the survey instrument, the hypotheses were tested using path analysis and Hayes's PROCESS macros.
Findings
The results indicate that heritage brand of destination sites is positively associated with (1) tourist satisfaction and (2) tourist revisit intention. The findings also support the positive effect of attractiveness of products is positively related to tourist satisfaction, which in turn, is a significant predictor of tourist revisit intention. The findings also support that community support benefits moderating the relationship between heritage brand and attractiveness of products in heritage destinations tourist satisfaction.
Practical implications
This study has several implications for practicing managers engaged in maintaining heritage destinations. As this research highlights the importance of heritage brands of destinations in influencing tourist satisfaction, local communities and policymakers need to provide the necessary infrastructure and facilities at these destinations. Further, local entrepreneurs are motivated to invest in delivering products that attract tourists.
Originality/value
The conceptual model developed in this study, is first of its kind, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, that investigates the effect of hedonism (second moderator) moderating the relationship between tourist satisfaction and culture (first moderator) in influencing tourists to revisit their intention. In addition to direct relationships, the moderating role of community support and benefits, culture and hedonism makes a unique contribution to the bourgeoning literature on tourism especially in Indian context.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore customers’ green hotel revisit behaviors, proposing the theory of repeat purchase behavior.
Design/methodology/approach
An empirical study is conducted through a questionnaire survey method, using personal interview survey approach in Bangladesh. In all, 401 usable data is collected from participants who have visited green hotels before. The following data are analyzed through partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) using Smart PLS 3.3.3.
Findings
Results of the study have raveled that habitual attachment and emotional attachment are significantly related to green hotel revisit intentions (behavioral intention) and revisiting a green hotel (actual behavior). The result also has uncovered that green hotel revisit intentions significantly impacted revisiting a green hotel. Moreover, the study results exert that green hotel revisit intentions partially mediate the relationship between habitual attachments, emotional attachment, and revisiting a green hotel.
Originality/value
The current study enriches green hospitality literature by uncovering the integrated effects of habitual attachment and emotional attachment on customers’ revisit intentions and behaviors in the green hotels’ context.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate factors and their impacts on halal tourism destinations revisit intentions among Muslim travelers, and explore the mediating effects of emotional attachments between halal social environments, halal food and beverages, halal services and halal tourism destinations revisit intentions.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on review of literatures, and by distributing 500 questionnaires to Muslim respondents and subsequently collecting 387 usable responses, the study is conducted through partial least squares structural equation modeling using Smart PLS3.3.3.
Findings
The findings of the study reveal that halal social environment, halal food and beverages, halal entertainments, halal staff clothing and emotional attachments significantly influence halal tourism destinations revisit intentions, whereas halal services has insignificant impact on halal tourism destinations revisit intentions, and halal social environment, halal food and beverages and halal services have positive significant impacts on emotional attachments toward halal tourism destinations. Moreover, emotional attachments partially mediate in the relationship between halal social environment, halal food and beverages, halal services and halal tourism destinations revisit intentions.
Practical implications
The current study findings uniquely contribute to the development of halal tourism destinations in Bangladesh by revealing the impactful factors and formulating marketing strategies that can increase Muslim travelers’ revisit intentions toward halal tourism destinations.
Originality/value
To the best of the author’s knowledge, this study is one of the pioneer research studies of halal tourism revisit intentions, providing new and unique theoretical and practical contributions to the enhancement of halal tourism industry in the world as well as Bangladesh. The findings could contribute to the halal tourism literature by identifying and evaluating factors influencing Muslim travelers’ revisit intentions toward halal tourism destinations. Moreover, the findings could help halal tourism operators in introducing halal attributes for creating Muslim travelers’ revisit intentions toward halal tourism destinations.

Abstract
Purpose
This study examines the influencing factors of smart technology use behaviour (STUB), influencing tourist satisfaction and enhancing revisit intention for the Chinese tourism destination. Further, the moderating role of place attachment on the relationship between STUB, tourist satisfaction and revisit intention has been examined.
Design/methodology/approach
The study employs quantitative methodology by incorporating the planned behaviour theory to develop the hypotheses. Using an online survey link, 409 responses were collected from the tourists employing a non-probability convenience random sampling technique.
Findings
The partial least squire-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) results show that social influence significantly affects STUB, tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. Also, the anticipated positive behaviour has positive and significantly affects STUB and revisit intention. Finally, the findings show that tourist satisfaction significantly affects revisit intention in the tourist destinations in China.
Research limitations/implications
A quantitative research design was applied, employing a random sampling technique, and surveys were conducted with tourists only in current research. However, future research can incorporate a wide range of methodology by collecting data from other tourism stakeholders to have an in-depth evaluation of repeat visitation behaviour. Future research can enhance the current conceptual framework by including other relevant variables like negative anticipated emotions at other locations, as the current study was conducted in the Chinese context.
Originality/value
This research adds value to the tourism destination to formulate tourist satisfaction and revisit intention. Implications are provided for a more nuanced understanding and effective planning in tourism destinations while considering smart technology use.

The results show that both affective image congruence (AIC) and cognitive image congruence (CIC) have a positive influence on tourist satisfaction and intention to revisit in the context of marathon tourism. The results also reveal that demographic and behavioural characteristics have a significant impact on revisiting intentions; and past experience of marathon tourism controls the relationship between image congruence and tourist satisfaction.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between perceived price justice, satisfaction, revisit intention and loyalty among restaurant customers, specially the mediating effect of revisit intention in the relationship between perceived price justice, satisfaction and loyalty.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from a questionnaire distributed to customer of restaurants in Turkey. A total of 304 restaurant customers participated.
Findings
Results from structural equation modeling show that price justice and satisfaction positively influence their revisit intention of restaurant customers, also revisit intention positively influences loyalty of restaurant customers. Also, the empirical results indicate that while revisit intention fully mediates the effect of price justice and loyalty, it partially mediates the effect of satisfaction and loyalty.
Originality/value
When the studies in the literature are examined, it is seen that there are various studies that deal with perceived price justice, customer satisfaction, revisit intention and loyalty variables from a different viewpoint. However, no study has been found on restaurants that investigate the relationship between these four variables and the mediating role of revisit intention. Furthermore, the authors’ study contributes to the hospitality and service management literature in two ways. First, the authors follow recent calls for studies on antecedents of revisit intention, with the aim of providing empirical support to uncover factor that shape customers’ revisit intentions. Second, the authors investigate the attitudinal mechanism that explains how customers’ perception of price justice and satisfaction in their loyalty by exploring the mediation effect of revisit intention. On the other hand, it is foreseen that the study will shed light on restaurant managers and provide healthy data for strategic planning. Additionally, that the results obtained are the practical purpose of the study is to contribute to the determination of product development and promotional strategies for restaurant managements.

The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum stimulation levels (OSLs) of cultural tourists within the context of their novelty seeking tendencies and to determine whether their OSLs have a moderating effect on the relationship between their satisfaction and revisit intentions.
Design/methodology/approach
To collect data, an online survey was conducted for Turkish cultural tourists (n = 563) in May 2018, and the data were analysed with PROCESS by Hayes.
Findings
The study’s findings demonstrated that Turkish cultural tourists were high-level novelty seekers and that novelty seeking has a moderating effect on the relationship between their satisfaction and short-term revisit intentions.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the literature by revealing the moderator effect of novelty seeking tendency on the relationship between satisfaction and revisit intention within the scope of cultural tourism, which has not been examined before.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the qualities of delighted cruise travelling experience and proposed cruisers’ experience, service convenience and perceived overall value as the drivers of cruisers’ satisfaction and revisit intention. Thus, the attributes of an effective cruise-marketing strategy in formulating consumer’s recreational experiences are examined.
Design/methodology/approach
A total of 287 questionnaires were collected and structural equation modelling technique was used to analyse data obtained from cruise travellers.
Findings
The empirical results indicated that service convenience and cruisers’ experience significantly influence perceived overall cruisers’ satisfaction and revisit intention, whereas perceived overall cruise value influences perceived overall cruisers’ satisfaction but not cruisers’ revisit intention. Furthermore, empirical assessments support that service convenience is a higher-order model (reflective-reflective) consisting of decision convenience, access convenience, transaction convenience, benefit convenience and post-benefit convenience.
Originality/value
This research is among ongoing attempts that have been carried out regarding the qualities of cruise satisfaction and revisits intention and uncovers recreational experiences to propose an effective cruise-marketing strategy.
