Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to analyse the impact of e-paper on many existing industries including paper, publishing, book distribution, display, handheld device manufacturers and content service providers. Flexible display has been studied by many institutes, firms and market research companies. Some believe that e-paper is an exceptional application for flexible display, and the need for flexible display development for handheld devices and cloud-based e-book content is indisputable.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses the Delphi technique and STEEP (Sociological, Technological, Economic, Environmental and Political aspects) with a panel to analyse a business model and the opportunity for the development of e-paper in Taiwan up to the year 2020.
Findings
The study concludes that e-paper content and customised digital services are an essential part of e-paper development, while hardware and cloud data are no more than a mechanism to show, compute and store data. Thus, whether the screen of a handheld device is flexible may not be of importance. Although e-paper will affect the display industry, it will not substitute for handheld devices and traditional bookstores.
Originality/value
This research can be used as a reference for government, academics, industry and international investors.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the state of logistics management research in Asia. The study focuses on the research agenda, the topics of interest, and the extent of research collaboration in logistics theory building and knowledge specific to Asia.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses a mixed methods approach namely, content analysis drawn from the articles found in six well-recognized peer-reviewed logistics management related journals from 2003 to 2013, followed by social network analysis which is applied on the selected articles to provide a structure of the collaboration relationship.
Findings
Initial findings suggest that there are some scholars in Asia who are instrumental in research collaboration and in building a body of knowledge on logistics management focused on Asia. More co-production of knowledge from deeper and tightly knit industry-academic collaboration is needed to progress this domain. Most of the published work use an empirical instrument drawn from the resource-based view to explore firm level supply chain collaboration and strategy. This suggests a positivist research tradition within logistics. There is a shortage of studies conducted on the supply chain as a network of enterprises.
Research limitations/implications
The review of the articles is limited to six logistics specific journals and the authors only concentrate on logistics management research focused on Asia. The contributions from the other journals may have been missed. More collaboration at the institutional, national, and international levels is called for especially on cross-collaboration between practice and theory.
Practical implications
Though the analysis is restricted to 260 articles found in six journals, this paper can shed light on the research needs from different perspectives and facilitate the progress of logistics management research in Asia.
Originality/value
This is the first paper to discuss the state of logistics management research collaboration in Asia, and provides an overview of the research issues, topics, and approaches undertaken thus far. Through this work, this study hopes that it will encourage greater research collaboration between industry and academia, and academics themselves.

Abstract
Purpose
Named Data Networking (NDN) is a content-centric network differing from the traditional IP-based network. It adopts the name prefix to identify, query and route the information content instead of IP-based addressing and routing. NDN provides a convenient way to access the content without knowing the originated location of the requested information. However, the length of name prefix varies. It is not like the fixed-length IP addresses that makes handling queries or searching the requested information in NDN easier. An efficient name lookup mechanism of name prefix will efficiently increase the performance of prefix identifying, name searching and content retrieving. Therefore, this paper aims to propose a partial name prefix merging and shortening scheme for enhancing the efficiency of name lookup in NDN.
Design/methodology/approach
To reduce the work involved in name prefix identifying, querying, storing and routing, this work adopts a cyclic redundancy check-based encoding scheme to shorten the variable length of the name prefix into a proper and fixed length of encoded numerical information. In fact, the structure of a name prefix is presented in a combination of word segments with the slash symbol. The shortening procedure of name prefix can also be applied to adjacent word segments forming fixed-length encoded data for further efficiently matching the name prefix for name lookup in NDN.
Findings
The experimental results show that the shorter length of encoded name prefix can effectively reduce the access time of name lookup and increasingly retrieve the corresponding named content in NDN. Through partial merging and shortening of name prefix, the length of encoded prefix name may be larger than the whole encoding of name prefix. It retains the information differences from different parts of various name prefixes. Thus, it can avoid collision problems with the same encoded information from various name prefixes.
Originality/value
From the experimental results, it is observed that partial merging and shortening of name prefix is useful for name look up in NDN. It can increase the efficiency of name prefix matching and retrieving in NDN. It can also save memory space to store the name prefix in an NDN node.

Purpose
This empirical study explored how coworker incivility and customer incivility affect the work engagement and job performance of frontline employees.
Design/methodology/approach
To investigate the incivility and characteristics of hospitality industry workplaces, this study recruited frontline employees from tourist hotels as study participants. Because complete contact information could not be obtained for this population, convenience sampling was employed. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection.
Findings
Coworker incivility and customer incivility reduced work engagement and job performance. The effects of coworker incivility on the work engagement and job performance are greater than those of customer incivility. Furthermore, work engagement has a positive effect on the job performance.
Originality/value
Although studies have investigated the effects of customer incivility, these effects have not been compared with those of coworker incivility. Moreover, studies on the influence of coworker and customer incivility on job performance and work engagement in the hospitality industry and on those of work engagement on job performance have been scant. The current empirical study investigated the effects of coworker and customer incivility on the job performance and work engagement and of frontline hospitality employees.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to explore the augmented reality (AR) effectiveness of museum visiting.
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the AR marketing of the motivation model and the inspiration model, the critical mental process and AR were revealed that could increase museum visits. The mixed-methods approach was adopted to analyze the qualitative research and test the model hypotheses to understand the perceptions of the increasing AR marketing of museum visits.
Findings
The authors found that inspiration and perceived quality AR are critical to enhancing the attitudinal of museum visits. AR developers can thus focus on utilitarian and hedonic benefits in perceptual augmentation quality to inspire users’ willingness to visit museums.
Originality/value
This study extended the inspiration model through a mixed-methods approach to investigate how AR technologies encourage and leverage visitor experience to increase museum visit intention psychologically.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper was to examine the definitions of global leadership and indigenous leadership, identify leadership capacities inherent in human resource development (HRD) and determine relationships of the three as a means to develop a model to aid and guide opportunities for future research.
Design/methodology/approach
Following a two-stage integrative literature review of HRD, global and indigenous leadership literature, the grounded theory constant comparative method established 31 positive and 1 negative leadership domains, and respective capacities, and compare domains from literature.
Findings
The Global Leadership Capacity Wheel informs researchers of strengths and areas for additional research, has resulted in a more complete model of global leadership and calls for increased clarity for leadership capacity model development, especially for complex, global environments and local constructs and theories.
Research limitations/implications
Although the literature had adequate representation in the business and organizational acumen and managing people and relationships central global leadership domains, more research and reporting is required for managing self and indigenous leadership capacity development subdomains.
Practical implications
Leadership development is a high priority and core function of HRD. The Global Leadership Capacity Wheel provides a tool for scholars and practitioners to guide global leadership development programs and research.
Social implications
Understanding the relationships of leadership capacities from global and indigenous perspectives is helpful to examine cultural, identity and macro-contextual dimensions and their influence on leadership.
Originality/value
The Global Leadership Capacity Wheel provides a type of road-map, a holistic representation, in the context of developing global leaders in today’s complex environment.
