Abstract
Purpose
The aim of this study was to produce an enriched honey powder with active compounds coming from bee pollen and investigate the effects of bee pollen addition as a carrier material on honey powder.
Design/methodology/approach
The effects of bee pollen addition as carrier material in corporation with gum arabic at different ratios (25, 50 and 75% of total carrier material amount) on vacuum-dried honey-bee pollen powder were investigated.
Findings
The bee pollen concentration raise in the mixture increased the particle size, total phenolic, flavonoid and sugar contents and antioxidant activity, whereas decreased the Hauser ratio and Carr index values, hygroscopicity and solubility of enriched honey powder samples. The honey powder samples had passable and poor flow properties and very hygroscopic (>20%) structure because of the high sugar content. The phenolic and flavonoid contents of honey powder samples with bee pollen changed between 1531.59 and 3796.00 mg GAE/kg and 424.05–1203.10 mg QE/kg, respectively, and these values were much higher than the control sample. On the basis of linear correlation analysis, there was a very high positive correlation between total phenolic, flavonoid and antioxidant activity, while there was a very high negative correlation between these parameters and solubility.
Originality/value
The study evaluated that enriching of honey powders with pollen, which is a product of both plant and bee origin, rather than enriching with different plant and animal sources has an innovative approach. Additionally, the usage of bee pollen as a carrier agent in food drying has not been previously reported in any study.

Abstract
Businesses have increasingly been urged to shift their emphasis away from a purely profit-driven economic perspective to a more sustainable approach to growth that holistically captures people, the planet and profits. Indigenous businesses are well suited to creatively integrate sustainability principles within their internal culture. This enables them to cope with the dominance created by non-indigenous enterprises while also promoting long-term business success. The Triple Bottom Line (TBL) concept has been applied to explore how indigenous businesses in Uganda manifest their best practices by incorporating sustainability principles for lasting economic performance. A multiple case study approach was adopted, and three well-established female-owned indigenous businesses were investigated using in-depth interviews. Integrating sustainability in the business is a fulfiling process if done holistically by embracing a range of interdependent variables that include environmental, social and economic dimensions. The author contributes an innovative culturally sensitive sustainability scope that reflects practical insights on how internal sustainability efforts can be streamlined for long-term economic prosperity without compromising the wider social and physical environment.

Post pandemic, the expectations and systems have shifted emphasizing the need for more programming around social emotional learning and systems to help mitigate the learning disruption. The insurmountable pressure placed on teachers has led to a robust and persistent departure of the profession causing the entire education system to rethink the policies, structures, and systems that influence teacher burnout.

Abstract
Purpose
The effects of country-of-origin (COO) cues on product evaluations are well documented. However, research on the relative effects of COO compared to other geographical indicators, such as region-of-origin (ROO), on food purchases is still limited. This study investigates how geographical origin labels influence consumers' perceptions of product value and authenticity of foreign food, as well as subsequent purchase intention (PI) and willingness to pay premium prices (WTPPP). The moderating role of health consciousness on these relationships is also examined due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses a between-subjects experimental design conducted with 300 middle- and high-income Chinese consumers aged between 25 and 50 years. Hypotheses were tested using structural equation modelling.
Findings
Whilst under both COO and ROO cues, all five product values positively influenced consumers' WTPPP, only functional, economic and novelty values influenced PI. The ROO cue performed significantly better than the COO cue in eliciting functional, economic and novelty value perceptions, which triggered stronger PI and willingness to pay a premium price. These relationships were mediated by product authenticity (PA) and moderated by consumers' health consciousness (HC).
Practical implications
Because food labels provide salient product information that facilitates consumers' evaluation of products, marketers should assess which product value perceptions they wish to enhance and then choose the appropriate geographical indicators for their labelling strategies.
Originality/value
This study identifies the effects of COO and ROO cues on product values, authenticity, PI and WTPPP. It also provides valuable insights into the role of HC on consumers' purchase decisions, which also aids in understanding the impact of global crises on food purchases.

Cloud computing (CC) refers to the usage of virtualization technology to share computing resources through the internet. Task scheduling (TS) is used to assign computational resources to requests that have a high volume of pending processing. CC relies on load balancing to ensure that resources like servers and virtual machines (VMs) running on real servers share the same amount of load. VMs are an important part of virtualization, where physical servers are transformed into VM and act as physical servers during the process. It is possible that a user’s request or data transmission in a cloud data centre may be the reason for the VM to be under or overloaded with data.
Design/methodology/approach
VMs are an important part of virtualization, where physical servers are transformed into VM and act as physical servers during the process. It is possible that a user’s request or data transmission in a cloud data centre may be the reason for the VM to be under or overloaded with data. With a large number of VM or jobs, this method has a long makespan and is very difficult. A new idea to cloud loads without decreasing implementation time or resource consumption is therefore encouraged. Equilibrium optimization is used to cluster the VM into underloaded and overloaded VMs initially in this research. Underloading VMs is used to improve load balance and resource utilization in the second stage. The hybrid algorithm of BAT and the artificial bee colony (ABC) helps with TS using a multi-objective-based system. The VM manager performs VM migration decisions to provide load balance among physical machines (PMs). When a PM is overburdened and another PM is underburdened, the decision to migrate VMs is made based on the appropriate conditions. Balanced load and reduced energy usage in PMs are achieved in the former case. Manta ray foraging (MRF) is used to migrate VMs, and its decisions are based on a variety of factors.
Findings
The proposed approach provides the best possible scheduling for both VMs and PMs. To complete the task, improved whale optimization algorithm for Cloud TS has 42 s of completion time, enhanced multi-verse optimizer has 48 s, hybrid electro search with a genetic algorithm has 50 s, adaptive benefit factor-based symbiotic organisms search has 38 s and, finally, the proposed model has 30 s, which shows better performance of the proposed model.
Originality/value
User’s request or data transmission in a cloud data centre may cause the VMs to be under or overloaded with data. To identify the load on VM, initially EQ algorithm is used for clustering process. To figure out how well the proposed method works when the system is very busy by implementing hybrid algorithm called BAT–ABC. After the TS process, VM migration is occurred at the final stage, where optimal VM is identified by using MRF algorithm. The experimental analysis is carried out by using various metrics such as execution time, transmission time, makespan for various iterations, resource utilization and load fairness. With its system load, the metric gives load fairness. How load fairness is worked out depends on how long each task takes to do. It has been added that a cloud system may be able to achieve more load fairness if tasks take less time to finish.

Abstract
Purpose
It was verified that the micro-texture in the front and back of the tool at the same time had a positive effect on improving the milling behavior and surface quality of the tool. The purpose of this study is to explore the rationality of simultaneous placement of micro-textures on the front and rear surfaces of ball-end milling cutters, analyze the influence of micro-texture parameters on tool milling behavior and workpiece surface quality, reveal its internal mechanism, and obtain the best micro-texture parameters by optimization.
Design/methodology/approach
First, the mechanism of micro-texture is studied based on the energy loss model. Second, the orthogonal experiment is designed to analyze the influence of micro-texture parameters on tool milling behavior and reveal its mechanism by combining simulation technology and cutting experiment. Finally, the parameters are optimized based on the artificial bee colony algorithm.
Findings
The results show that the simultaneous placement of micro-texture on the rake face and flank face of the tool has a positive effect on improving the milling behavior and surface quality of the tool. Taking milling force, tool wear and surface roughness as the evaluation criteria, the optimal parameter combination is obtained: the rake face micro-texture diameter is 50 µm, the distance from the micro-texture is 200 µm and the distance from the cutting edge is 110 µm; the diameter of the micro-textured flank is 40 µm, the distance from the micro-texture is 170 µm and the distance from the cutting edge is 130 µm.
Originality/value
Taking milling force, tool wear and surface roughness as the evaluation criteria, the optimal parameter combination is obtained: the rake face micro-texture diameter is 50 µm, the distance from the micro-texture is 200 µm and the distance from the cutting edge is 110 µm; the diameter of the micro-textured flank is 40 µm, the distance from the micro-texture is 170 µm and the distance from the cutting edge is 130 µm, which provides theoretical support for the further study of the micro-textured tool.

Purpose
Assembly lines are widely employed in manufacturing processes to produce final products in a flow efficiently. The simple assembly line balancing problem is a basic version of the general problem and has still attracted the attention of researchers. The type-I simple assembly line balancing problems (SALBP-I) aim to minimise the number of workstations on an assembly line by keeping the cycle time constant.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper focuses on solving multi-objective SALBP-I problems by utilising an artificial bee colony based-hyper heuristic (ABC-HH) algorithm. The algorithm optimises the efficiency and idleness percentage of the assembly line and concurrently minimises the number of workstations. The proposed ABC-HH algorithm is improved by adding new modifications to each phase of the artificial bee colony framework. Parameter control and calibration are also achieved using the irace method. The proposed model has undergone testing on benchmark problems, and the results obtained have been compared with state-of-the-art algorithms.
Findings
The experimental results of the computational study on the benchmark dataset unequivocally establish the superior performance of the ABC-HH algorithm across 61 problem instances, outperforming the state-of-the-art approach.
Originality/value
This research proposes the ABC-HH algorithm with local search to solve the SALBP-I problems more efficiently.

The paper aims to provide an efficient dispatching schedule for ready-mix concrete (RMC) trucks and create a balance between batch plants and construction sites.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper focused on developing a new metaheuristic swarm intelligence algorithm using Java code. The paper used statistical criterion: mean, standard deviation, running time to verify the effectiveness of the proposed optimization method and compared its derivatives with other algorithms, such as genetic algorithm (GA), Tabu search (TS), bee colony optimization (BCO), ant lion optimizer (ALO), grey wolf optimizer (GWO), dragonfly algorithm (DA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO).
Findings
The paper proved that integrating GWO and DA yields better results than independent algorithms and some selected algorithms in the literature. It also suggests that multi-independent batch plants could effectively cooperate in a system to deliver RMC to various construction sites.
Originality/value
The paper provides a compelling new hybrid swarm intelligence algorithm and a model allowing multi-independent batch plants to work in a system to deliver RMC. It fulfills an identified need to study how batch plant managers can expand their dispatching network, increase their competitiveness and improve their supply chain operations.

Purpose
This paper aims to focus on a medical goods distribution problem and pharmacological waste collection by plug-in hybrid vehicles with some real-world restrictions. In this research, considering alternative energy sources and simultaneous pickup and delivery led to a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions and distribution costs, respectively.
Design/methodology/approach
Here, this problem has been modeled as mixed-integer linear programming with the traveling and energy consumption costs objective function. The GAMS was used for model-solving in small-size instances. Because the problem in this research is an NP-hard problem and solving real-size problems in a reasonable time is impossible, in this study, the artificial bee colony algorithm is used.
Findings
Then, the algorithm results are compared with a simulated annealing algorithm that recently was proposed in the literature. Finally, the results obtained from the exact solution and metaheuristic algorithms are compared, analyzed and reported. The results showed that the artificial bee colony algorithm has a good performance.
Originality/value
In this paper, medical goods distribution with pharmacological waste collection is studied. The paper was focused on plug-in hybrid vehicles with simultaneous pickup and delivery. The problem was modeled with environmental criteria. The traveling and energy consumption costs are considered as an objective function.

This chapter draws from research on aesthetic labour, gender, management and organisation studies and research on women's careers. We base our analysis on two empirical data sets, namely interviews with women mid-managers in Finland and Scotland, and interviews with highly positioned expert women in Finland in knowledge work. Women in different phases of their careers and life experience manifold pressures on appearances, and are increasingly aware of the demands to ‘look good and sound right’. We address how these pressures impact on women managers' and experts' well-being and career plans.
