Abstract
Purpose
The co‐word analysis method is commonly used to cluster‐related keywords into the same keyword domain. In other words, traditional co‐word analysis cannot cluster the same keywords into more than one keyword domain, and disregards the multi‐domain property of keywords. The purpose of this paper is to propose an innovative keyword co‐citation approach called “Complete Keyword Pair (CKP) method”, which groups complete keyword sets of reference papers into clusters, and thus finds keywords belonging to more than one keyword domain, namely bridge‐keywords.
Design/methodology/approach
The approach regards complete author keywords of a paper as a complete keyword set to compute the relations among keywords. Any two complete keyword sets whose corresponding papers are co‐referenced by the same paper are recorded as a CKP. A clustering method is performed with the correlation matrix computed from the frequency counts of the CKPs, for clustering the complete keyword sets. Since keywords may be involved in more than one complete keyword set, the same keywords may end up appearing in different clusters.
Findings
Results of this study show that the CKP method can discover bridge‐keywords with average precision of 80 per cent in the Journal of the Association for Computing Machinery citation bank during 2000‐2006 when compared against the benchmark of Association for Computing Machinery Computing Classification System.
Originality/value
Traditional co‐word analysis focuses on co‐occurrence of keywords, and therefore, cannot cluster the same keywords into more than one keyword domain. The CKP approach considers complete author keyword sets of reference papers to discover bridge‐keywords. Therefore, the keyword recommendation system based on CKP can recommend keywords across multiple keyword domains via the bridge‐keywords.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to assist in identifying the value to the student of the College of Policing approved Certificate in Knowledge of Policing (CKP), whilst identifying some of the challenges encountered by both students and staff.
Design/methodology/approach
The research involved students completing self-administered questionnaires both on commencing their study of the CKP and completing the programme. Written student feedback was also collected and a focus group was facilitated with the academic teaching staff. The research approach adopted was aimed at influencing the development of the programme, whilst establishing the value of the CKP to students.
Findings
The research suggests that completing the CKP did not significantly influence the students’ career choice, however, it did have a positive impact on the development of their confidence in terms of applying for the role of a police officer. Both staff and students identified the quantity of the knowledge to be taught and learnt, with staff also reporting the additional benefit to them of refreshing their subject knowledge.
Research limitations/implications
The external validity of this research beyond the sample group is limited, due to, for example, different programmes of study at different institutions, etc., however, the findings are informative. The reliability of the research is good, however, it must also be considered the behaviour of respondents may have been influenced by taking part in the research. Further longitudinal research should be conducted following cohorts of students completing the CKP through initial application to employment.
Practical implications
The CKP is currently viewed by many as an educational package to be completed prior to an application for employment as a police officer, whereas consideration should be given to using the CKP as a way to inform and build an individual’s confidence that the police officer role is the career for them, or otherwise.
Originality/value
This research has identified how, amongst this group of students, completing the new concept of a pre-employment CKP, approved by the College of Policing, has increased their confidence in applying to become a police officer. As such, this is of value to those teaching the CKP and the College of Policing.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the impact of an employability module, the College of Policing Certificate in Knowledge of Policing (CKP), on students’ career aspirations, their confidence and wish to join the police along with the appropriateness of the module. This will inform the implementation of employability as part of the College of Policing-managed Police Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF).
Design/methodology/approach
A three-year longitudinal research study used mixed methods across four points in time to evaluate the impact on students studying the employability module.
Findings
The research suggests that the employability-focussed CKP was useful as an introduction to policing, it developed interest in the police and enhanced the confidence of learners applying to join. Lessons learnt from the CKP should be considered during the implementation of the PEQF.
Research limitations/implications
The ability to generalise findings across different groups is limited as other influences may impact on a learner’s confidence and employability. However, the implications for the PEQF curriculum are worthy of consideration.
Practical implications
As the police service moves towards standardised higher educational provision and evolution of policing as a profession, lessons can be learnt from the CKP with regards to the future employability of graduates.
Originality/value
Enhancing the employability evidence base, focussing on policing, the research identified aspects which may impact on graduates completing a degree mapped to the PEQF. The research is therefore of value to higher education and the professional body for policing.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to identify the dimensions of customer knowledge processing (CKP) in the context of key account management (KAM), and to examine its relationship with the supplier's key account performance.
Design/methodology/approach
The findings of the paper are based on empirical survey data collected among large industrial firms in Finland.
Findings
The findings of the research show that CKP is a three‐dimensional construct made up of acquisition, dissemination, and utilization. The degree of acquisition and utilization are found to be significantly associated with the supplier's key account performance.
Practical implications
In order to improve key account, performance managers need to recognize customer interaction as a source of customer knowledge. In addition to acquiring knowledge about their customers, they also need to learn to utilize the knowledge residing in them in their customer‐value‐creation processes.
Originality/value
CKP is represented in this paper as a construct reflecting the processing of knowledge about and from specific strategically important key account customers. It is also perceived as a determinant of successful KAM.

Industrial concentration is broadly defined as: a few firms controlling a substantial share (assets, revenues) of the market. In the banking sector, this paper shows that the largest 50 banks in the world control about 50 percent of assets of the largest 1,000 banks. Two well known indexes of concentration were used (the Herfindahl and Theil’s entropy) to check the levels of concentration between 1990 and 2002. For purposes of robustness, the world’s largest 100 banks were also investigated. Abstract
Hungarians’ degree of knowledge of the EU has been increasing over the years, despite the mainly sovereignty-based and Eurosceptic political communication and related political and media narratives in the last 10 years. Still, whereas Hungarians tend to be familiar with factual information on the European Union, they face more challenges trying to figure out how the EU actually works. This is related to the scarcity of this type of information both in public education and the media, which can obstruct not only the adequate understanding of how the European Union functions, but also the support for its policies. The objective of this chapter is to examine how the EU-related content is taught in Hungarian educational system. The discussion covers teaching in primary, secondary and tertiary education. The investigation is based on document analysis, such as the National Core Curricula, secondary school textbooks, baccalaureate topics, as well as completion and exit requirements for bachelor and master programs of higher education institutions.
