Charts the progress of the introduction of a quality information system at telecommunication manufacturer Italtel. Highlights the system′s role as a tool in a TQM programme whose aim is to create a common information base for all aspects of the organisation. Details the types of database and reports available on components, processes and products throughout their lifecycle. Illustrates quality reporting mechanisms for procurement, production, systems in the field and a variety of cost assessment reporting procedures.
