Emerald is delighted to announce that from 2004, Work Study will be re-titled The International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management. Improving performance and productivity inevitably involves change and the journal is showing that it too embraces change. This new title reflects the journal's planned content and coverage. The new volume also sees the journal move to fully blind refereed content. Dr Zoe Radnor, from Warwick Business School, joins the journal as co-editor to oversee the academic/research content, while the journal also aims to maintain its appeal to practitioners by inclusion of professional practitioner-based content. John Heap will continue to edit this practitioner content. To reflect the journal's growing stature, the 2004 volume will also see an increase to eight issues per volume. These changes build on the reputation of Work Study and reflect the growing interest in the international research community involving issues of productivity and performance management.
The journal's editorial objectives are to address new developments and thinking in productivity science and performance management, including new techniques, approaches and related reflective analysis designed to improve individual, group and organisational performance. It will seek to develop an understanding in and across manufacturing, service and public sector organisations.
IJPPM's coverage will include organisation and methods, performance management, performance measurement tools and techniques, work measurement and work analysis, process analysis, engineering and re-engineering, and quality and business excellence management. The co-editors welcome submissions in these areas at e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
