I work for a large organisation – in which I attend a lot of meetings. Most of those meetings start about three to five minutes late by the time all (or at least most) of the attendees have arrived. At a recent, rather boring meeting (no, some of them are very good, honestly!) I idly reflected on the cost of those three to five minutes multiplied by the cost of the average attendee's salary multiplied by the number of meetings per week, per month, per year. The resulting figure is actually quite shocking. (Try it for your organisation.) Time for a punctuality purge?
