Axis Communications has launched the AXIS Network Document Station, described as a full service solution for sending paper documents as e-mails. "The AXIS 70U network document server, together with the Fujitsu fi-4010CU office scanner, will make a perfect combination for any medium to large-sized, paper-intensive company that regularly uses fax or courier", says Axis. Claimed to be faster, cheaper, and safer than fax, traditional mail, and courier, the AXIS Network Document Station turns paper documents into Adobe PDF digital format, and sends them as e-mail. This is said to make it easier to distribute documents such as invoices, orders, and hotel confirmations, "and provides a safe way to easily communicate and archive paper-based documents".
