DEMOeurope

IDG Executive Forums, a division of Network World, Inc., is adding a European event to its DEMO portfolio of technology product launch conferences.

DEMOeurope will be the first DEMO conference to focus specifically on new technology development across Europe and will be held in Lille, France, in September 2003.

"We are very excited to be taking the DEMO Conference to Europe, and specifically to the City of Lille in the Nord – Pas de Calais region of France", said Chris Shipley, executive producer of the DEMO conferences. "The DEMO Conferences focus on innovation and Lille is clearly a leader in developing an information technology economy in Europe."

DEMOeurope is hoped to serve as a launch pad for new technology products developed by European technology companies and North American firms bringing new products to the European markets. Like its North American counterpart, DEMOeurope will feature new product introductions and demonstrations conducted in general sessions and demonstration areas. "The DEMO Conference concept is right for Europe at this time", said Mike Sigal, co-producer for DEMOeurope. "The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurialism has come alive throughout Europe over the last decade, yet there is no venue that brings the analysis, selectivity, and visibility to innovative technology products as they launch in their home markets and across Europe. DEMOeurope, based on DEMO's world leading technology product launch practices and platform, will deliver the same benefits to Europe's ITC community as it has done for the US market for the last 12 years."

Sigal is based in Paris, France, and will work directly with technology companies, investors, and other organisations throughout Europe to organise the conference. The goal of DEMOeurope is to create an environment in which the leadership of European and North American companies can see the best new products as they come to market across Europe. As in the US conference, the DEMOeurope producers will apply high standards to the selection process to identify and invite innovative companies to participate in the event. In addition to showcasing emerging products and companies, the conference will enable participating executives to meet and partner with one another, and to build the financial, market, and channel support infrastructure to advance their business objectives.
