I recently took a trip to the USA. In my "hand luggage" were a camera (got to prove I've been), laptop (have to do some work while I'm there), a handheld computer (to use for taking notes whilst in conference sessions), a portable MP3/CD player (got to relax) … oh, and a shaver. Together with the various power supplies, batteries, etc. they weighed a ton! Roll on convergence, say I.
