Abbey National and Stiell have launched Covista, which they claim is a new breed of property management organisation. Comprising staff from Abbey's Group Property team and from Stiell, Covista brings together skills from the corporate client and supplier arenas that have already proven their worth in transforming Abbey National's property and FM provision over the last five years. They have driven the company's new outsourcing arrangements and working practices, followed by the revolutionary Columbus deal which transferred £465m of Abbey National property (558,000m2) to Mapeley. Covista's proposition is wider in scope (the management and delivery of property, facilities management and other support services) and narrower in focus (private sector large corporates) than its competitors. It is a high-level offering which will appeal to directors of corporates who wish to see a step change in the way their infrastructure is managed.
