The task in hand

The task in hand

At a special session of The Potomac Conference in Washington towards the end of last year, 160 senior-level business, non-profit and government leaders from across the greater Washington region agreed to establish a regional preparedness and recovery task force to map a regional plan for preparedness and economic recovery. The task force is made up of volunteer business leaders who will serve as a vehicle for private and non-profit businesses in the region to develop emergency preparedness plans that complement government emergency planning already under way. Task force members are just completing action plans that will be presented at the next Potomac Conference this April.

The task force will address key concerns of the non-government sector, such as safety and security of the employee workforce and their families; communications before, during and after a crisis; economic impact of a crisis; strategies to maintain key business functions and more.
