MATERNA Communications has recently launched the Anny Way WAP Server for Windows 2000, providing mobile access to Internet and Intranet applications and services, and integrating wireless applications protocol (WAP) with Windows 2000. It provides not just the gateway function of protocol conversion from WAP to http and vice versa but also provides services directly to users. Applications, content and services may be mobilised through the use of customer-specific plug-ins written using content provider interfaces. Plug-ins can be written using any object-oriented programming language that developers are familiar with.

The Anny Way WAP Server has a fully documented software development kit (SDK) to assist in the development of these content plug-ins. This allows the development of mobile (WAP) access to Microsoft Exchange, Excel spreadsheets, Access databases and other applications and services.
