Blowing the whistle
Blowing the whistle
I have a super new kettle ... well, actually, not so super. It looks gorgeous – all brushed stainless steel and aesthetic design. However, its spout (which is beautifully proportioned) is too small – so that when I naturally pour water from it, it overruns the spout and lands on the working surface or wherever the kettle happens to be. This is frustrating. Any triumph of form over function harms good design – next time, I will forget the aesthetics and just go for a simple, standard kettle that works. Good design looks good – but remember, functionality is foremost!
