The other man's grass

The other man's grass

It is always good to be reminded of things that happen in other industries – it often wakes one up to new possibilities. For example, I read the other day that Bass, the brewer, was looking at its "fill-to-fill" time for beer kegs at peak trading periods, with a view to shortening this time and reducing the number of (expensive) kegs it needed. One day's turnround time saved means 30,000 fewer kegs are needed. This set me thinking of "turnround" times in my own operation and I have a couple of areas that I shall investigate as a result of reading that little snippet.
