Datek UK has launched a range of battery superchargers for fork-lift trucks that not only extends battery life by a factor of ten but slashes the recharging time, cures the memory effect and ensures that the batteries always hold their full power potential. The AP14 range caters for wet or dry lead acid starting or traction accumulator types with voltages from 24-74v. It uses a patented Enstore ECS (electrode specific charging system) to provide the exact charging current needed to produce a perfect charge. With EXC charging, batteries will reach their full capacity, often exceeding the manufacturers' nominal capacity by 10 per cent or more. Charging cycles are increased tenfold over alternative systems - so the batteries usually last as long as, if not longer than, the fork truck. The AP14 charger monitors the precise electrochemical, thermodynamic and crystal structural state of each individual cell within the battery so it does not need to rely on crude measurements of battery capacity such as temperature rise during charging. In fact, unlike conventional or Delta V chargers, it does not allow the battery to heat up during charging (which lowers its life). See http://www.datek-uk.co.uk
