Common?
I am just recovering from what is referred to as "the common cold". Now, I am not someone who normally suffers from this ailment - but this time, I got one good and proper. Sneezes and sniffles, thumping head, aching limbs - the full monty. Now I know that the world has pumped vast resources into researching the cold and its cures, but seemingly to no avail. Is it a hopeless task? Is it really beyond the wit of man to engineer improved treatment? Can we put a man on the moon, yet not stop this infection that must cost the world dearly, in terms of suffering and in terms of lost output? Have I just got post-cold angst?
