2020 Vision
The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT), the City of London IT livery company, recently produced a visionary study with Gresham College looking at how information technology (IT) could change London in the year 2020. The study was called "London in 2020 - a view of the forces shaping the future of London and a vision of what we would like it to be". The study was published to encourage debate so that London can continue to thrive as a "world city" into the next millennium. In addition to the vision, the study includes papers from five Gresham College "Mondays at One" lectures and an associated set of workshops. It also features chapters and comments from two futurists, Rohit Talwar and Keith Bellamy, and a review by Martin Edwards on HG Wells' forecast from the 1890s. See www.fastfuture.com
