Saatchi & Saatchi and its sister public relations consultancy, The Rowland Company, have been appointed by the European Space Agency (ESA) to propose a corporate brand and communications strategy for the organisation. The strategy must tackle the fact that activities and achievements of the European space sector are virtually unknown outside of the space industry. The project is being jointly run from the Saatchi & Saatchi office in Paris and The Rowland Company in London. The Saatchi & Saatchi/Rowland team have been researching public attitudes across Europe, as well as talking to senior figures in the manufacturing sector and those organisations which are customers of the ESA. Areas which the team are exploring include joint marketing opportunities with major corporate and product brands, the relationship between ESA and industry, and development of a brand image clearly different from, but as powerful and recognisable as, NASA. The Saatchi & Saatchi/Rowland team completed its research work before Christmas and has just commenced the roll-out of the new strategy. You should become aware!
