SMART Group launches counterfeit component training CD-ROM free to download

SMART Group is pleased to announce the release of the first version of the “ChipCheck Inspection of Counterfeit Components Guide”. This interactive guide provides an overview of the problem, corrective action and methods of test. The guide also includes two members of the SMART Group committee, Nigel Burtt and Bob Willis, answering some of the most common questions asked by engineers. The plan is to publish further versions of the guide as the project progresses with information on the project equipment developments and further guidance on dealing with counterfeit components in the industry. SMART Group has been running technical workshops and webinars on the practical issues caused by counterfeit avoidance and is very excited to be part of the multi company activity.
