DEK received five leading industry awards at NEPCON China 2011

The world’s leading mass imaging equipment supplier, DEK International, was conferred a total of five leading industry awards at NEPCON China 2011 for its outstanding product performance and innovative solutions applicable to electronics assembly.

DEK emerged as the industry’s biggest winner in this year’s SMT China Vision Awards 2011 ceremony with a total of four trophies, the highest number received by any company at the awards. While ProActiv won an award in the process control tools category, Nano-ProTek received an honour in the conforming coating materials category, and Horizon 03iX platform grabbed a trophy in the solder paste printing – stencil and screen category, the newly launched Horizon 03iX platform was also named Prime Product of the year by attaining the highest scores among all nominations received from foreign equipment suppliers.

Equally significant, ProActiv’s breakthrough process technology was recognised as a winner in the printing equipment category at the EM Asia Innovation Awards 2011. Launched last September, ProActiv was designed to enable electronics manufacturers to rise to the challenge of increasing miniaturisation by rewriting the area ratio rules that limit conventional printing with smaller stencil apertures.

ProActiv’s leading edge technology has greatly impressed the judges with its ability to enable next generation components to be printed alongside standard components, using only a conventional printing process with a single thickness stencil. As a result, it was rewarded with two awards at this year’s NEPCON China.

Another great honour for DEK was the Horizon 03iX print platform, a pre-configured Horizon iX platform. It brought together powerful performance, ease of use and in-field retrofitability to ensure future-proofing manufacturing operation. Together with its fast changeover, Six Sigma performance and alignment capability of 2.0 Cpk @±12.5 microns, all these made it a winner in the solder paste printing – stencil and screen category of SMT China Vision Awards 2011, as well as being named Prime Product of the year.

Another winning technology, Nano-ProTek was also a new breakthrough on “fluxophobic” stencil coating. It has the ability to increase cleaning effectiveness while reducing cleaning frequency to drive unprecedented first pass yield in a simple wipe – a major advantage in production. This easy-to-apply and value-driven technology brought DEK a SMT China Vision Awards 2011 in the category of conforming coating materials.
