DEK has announced the appointment of Brian Lau (Figure 1) as new General Manager for the Americas. Based in DEK’s Chicago facility, Lau will travel extensively in his new role in order to maintain a strong working relationship with DEK teams and customers across the Americas. In one of his first official duties, Lau is visiting this year’s APEX show in Las Vegas to meet with a wide range of valued DEK customers.

Educated at the University of Southern Illinois, Lau’s early career saw him work in a variety of engineering-related posts for Motorola. From here, he moved to Panasonic where he has held a variety of positions from Sales Support to Sales Management. He most recently held the position of North American Group Sales Manager.

Commenting on the new addition at DEK, the company’s Global Sales & Marketing Director, Michael Brianda, commented: “As a well known and respected figure in the SMT marketplace, I have no doubt that Brian will play a key role in further strengthening our position in the Americas, helping our customers not only expect more but achieve more, too.”
