David Byrd appointed Global Manager for Engineered Products

Global electronics specialist DEK has created a new role to reinforce its successes in the engineered products business sector. The position of Global Manager for Engineered Products will be assumed by David Byrd in January 2008 and will see him liaising directly with customers to develop the company's stencils, screens and tooling business.
Commenting on David's appointment, DEK Sales and Marketing Director Michael Brianda said: “DEK has enjoyed significant growth in its engineered products sector over the last few years and, in order to continue to innovate for our customers, we need to build upon these successes and implement a clear strategy for future growth and development.”
Michael continues: “Being responsive to our customers' needs has always been an integral part of DEK's philosophy. And, to ensure this continues to happen within the stencils, screens and tooling business, we have created of the position of Global Manager for Engineered Products. With David Byrd's know-how and unquestionable experience in this field, he is the ideal candidate for the job.”
With key objectives already in place, David's main role will involve the establishment of global standards in DEK's engineered products' manufacturing processes. These will be undertaken with a view to increasing further DEK's high levels of customer service and product development within this business sector.
David Byrd states: “DEK's prominence in the electronics market is unquestionable and my aim is to get the engineered products business operating and thriving even more successfully within such a high-profile environment. My role will include working directly with customers and regional managers around the globe to facilitate DEK developing, engineering and manufacturing the type of stencils, screens and tooling products their diverse businesses demand.”
David continues, “At DEK, we have the know-how, we have the manufacturing expertise and, with such significant growth already demonstrated in this area over the last few years, I believe we truly have the high quality product capabilities.”
Currently working as Regional Operations Manager for the Americas, David will undertake his new role in January 2008. Having joined DEK in 2005 as America Operations Manager, David's background in operations management and organisational development strengthens his knowledge-base of this particular sector.
Michael concludes: “David's appointment is indicative that the engineered products sector is of great importance to DEK and we look forward to the successful implementation of his strategies throughout 2008.”
