FEINFOCUS launches X-ray inspection technology seminar program
Keywords: X-rays, Inspection
FEINFOCUS has announced a worldwide technical seminar program on X-ray inspection technology for 2004. Seminars will be tailored to the audience and focus on specific applications from X-ray inspection fundamentals, to traditional non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, to lead-free analysis and 3D inspection of electronics assemblies and packaging. FEINFOCUS technical seminars are being held in various countries spanning the globe.
The seminars are being organised by Dr Udo E. Frank, Director of Technology Development at FEINFOCUS. A renowned expert in the field of X-ray inspection, Dr Frank has published several articles on advanced X-ray inspection technologies, and has been at the forefront of recent award-winning innovations at FEINFOCUS.
FEINFOCUS has co-operated with their regional representatives in developing the seminar schedule worldwide, with courses planned for the Americas, Asia, and Europe. The first seminar in 2004 was held on 22 April in Korea, hosted by FEINFOCUS representative, Elecsys, and was attended by well over two-dozen engineers.
“SMT circuitry is now being compressed onto smaller substrates with higher numbers of interconnects due to the demands of miniaturised electronics products,” according to Dr Frank. “To maintain quality, manufacturers have resorted to sophisticated X-ray inspection technologies, especially for BGA and ìBGA components. These seminars provide manufacturers with the knowledge they crave to ensure quality control and keep costs to a minimum.”
Future seminars are planned throughout the year in France, Italy, Scandinavia, China, and several areas in the USA, including Arizona and California. For more information, contact Bianca Schanklies of FEINFOCUS at b_schanklies@feinfocus.com
