New DRS20 provides total control

Keywords Tony Chapman Electronics, Soldering

The latest addition to the Zevac DRS range of selective soldering/desoldering machines features vision imaging and motorised Z-axis. The new DRS20 (Plate 2) is ideal for repairs, prototyping, post-assembly and assembly.

The component and the layout of the board are projected on top of one another, allowing for position verification on all four sides. The special clear illumination - one for the component and one for the board layout - gurantees an optimum view, independent of the surrounding environment. The contrast can be adjusted to allow for any board colour combination. Once the component is centred, soldering can be observed through the stereo microscope.

A wide range of standard and custom-made hot gas nozzles are available for the soldering and desoldering of components from simple chip capacitors to SOICs, up to flat packs, PLCCs, flip-chips and BGAs.
