The Essemtec SP-002 (Plate 1) is recognised as one of the most versatile screen printers available.

In its standard format, the SP-002 is equipped with a manual squeegee but it can be easily upgraded with a guidance system which removes blade angle and pressure errors. An automatic brake ensures that when the top half of the machine is raised, the guidance remains fixed in position.

The printer has four table formats for all types of PCBs and the axes are fully adjustable through X, Y, Z and theta. An optional PCB registration frame provides easy alignment between the stencil and the PCB.

The top half of the printer, which holds the stencil, is height adjustable by 30mm and the seal between the solder paste and the stencil is broken vertically, providing better printing quality. When the gas spring supported top is closed, the ball and socket joints located at each corner ensure consistent repeatability.

Maximum stencil frame size is 430mm x 430mm x 30mm and a two or four-way foils tensioning frame is available. Rubber or metal 150mm, 220mm and 300mm squeegee blades may be used.
