The Test Industry Suppliers Association (TISA) is the new independent association formed in 1999 by organisations trading in electronic, electrical test and allied industries. TISA is providing a badly needed focus for the supply side of the test industry and giving it a voice that has been lacking for some time. TISA was formed by 15 well known test companies to address some specific common test issues. TISA is now expanding its brief to deal with the future of the test industry and market place.
TISA's declared aims are:

To act as an industry voice.

To represent the industry to other bodies and organisations and governments.
- •
To establish technical conferences and seminars, linked to major exhibitions.
- •
To liase with exhibition organisers to maximise the effectiveness of trade shows.
- •
To work with trade publications to maximise industry exposure.
- •
To promote member companies through the TISA Web site and member directory.
- •
To develop, promote and maintain standards throughout the industry.
Founding member companies are: Agilent, Cirris, DiagnoSYS, GenRad, IFR, Innovate, National Instruments, Peak Group, Polar, Racal Instruments, Schaffner, Spea, Tektronix, Teradyne, Wayne Kerr.
The elected committee comprises: Chairman, Andy Bonner (DiagnoSYS), Vice Chairman, Terry Boyle (CamCall), Tim Fountain (National Instruments), Dave Morris (Cirris).
TISA is intending to affiliate with similar overseas organisations during 2000 and to increase its membership. Support for both inward and outward trade missions is being sought and TISA will participate in key trade shows.
