ATF acquires equity interest from Speedline

Keywords: ATF, Speedline

ATF is pleased to announce that it has concluded the purchase of the equity interest, which Speedline Electrovert held in ATF, a leading soldering machine manufacturer whose headquarters are in Germany. The conclusion of negotiations has been very amicable; Speedline will concentrate on its thermal product core business, the soldering and cleaning line of equipment manufactured by Electrovert in Camdenton, USA.

With immediate effect, ATF is no longer part of the Cookson Group, even though there will be some continuing co-operation with Speedline. This includes the authorization for ATF to continue to utilize some of the Electrovert technology, which already exists in ATF's top range machine, the Neupak wavesoldering system, a unique machine combining German design with Electrovert innovation.

As part of the reorganisation, ATF will be reviewing its total distribution/agent network and some valued representatives will remain.

One of the ever present original founders of ATF, Manfred Berberich, will take the responsibility for design, manufacturing, order processing and after sales support, managing the Collenberg facility.

Frank Cavalli, previously Electrovert's vice president for Europe, will take responsibility for financial matters, marketing and sales, directly on the ground in Southern Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australia and South Africa. Manfred and Frank are joined by Robert Dams who takes responsibility for sales to all German speaking territories, UK, Ireland, Northern and Eastern Europe.

The ATF range of wavesoldering machines is well respected globally, from bench top to free standing pallet or finger type conveyor. The Neupak is particularly suitable for satisfying "lot size of one" requirements. ATF can also offer turnkey projects with linked conveyor systems. New products will continue to be developed with input from ATF's extensive customer base.

Recently ATF has sold an innovative selective soldering unit to M. MareIii in Italy, has delivered to E.I. Electronics in Ireland a number of small units, which are used in Kaizen mini-production cells and has been awarded a substantial contract to deliver 16 medium size machines to a plant in Chihuahua in Mexico.
