APEX keynote to focus on supply chain management

IPC have announced in conjunction with Industry Week magazine the organization of a panel of industry leaders to discuss supply chain management for electronics assembly at APEXSM.
Industry Week will present: "Titans of the supply chain" on 16 March, from 8.30 to 9.30a.m., during APEX, IPC SMEMA Council's Electronics Assembly Process Exhibition and Conference.
"Companies today are generating most of their productivity gains and market dominance through proper supply chain management", says IPC director of assembly industry programs Lisa Griffin. "This panel pulls together industry leaders from all links of the electronics assembly supply chain who will share their vision of how to best ensure that people have all the information they need to make the right decisions in a timely fashion".
IPC and Industry Week have secured the following panelists for the keynote presentation:

Tim Conlon, president and COO, Viasystems, representing PWB manufacturers.

Raymond Sharpe, CEO, Cookson Electronics, representing equipment manufacturers and materials suppliers.
- •
Greg Frazier, executive vice president, Avnet, representing component distributors.
- •
Dr Vince DePalma, vice president, Solectron, representing electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers.
- •
Dr Iwona Turlik, vice president and director, Motorola, representing OEMs in the communications industry.
Invitations have also been extended to a second EMS provider and OEM.
Industry Week magazine is in the process of conducting a study on supply chain management. The results of this study will be prepared for the panelists. The supply chain management keynote is one of three to be held at APEX. General H. Norman Schwarzkopf will deliver the first presentation, on 14 March. The next day, three financial analysts will present "Wall Street speaks on the EMS industry".
