Bob Pitchford brings over 14 years process and development experience in wave and reflow soldering and cleaning equipment to his appointment as European business manager for the Speedline ELECTROVERT product lines.

"My prime role is to further enhance Speedline ELECTROVERT's European distribution network and to ensure that all our new and existing customers benefit from the highest levels of expertise and depth of knowledge offered by our sales and support organisations", states Pitchford. "In addition, I will continue to drive Speedline's on-going development of the ELECTROVERT range of wave and reflow soldering, and cleaning products. This may include acquisitions of key companies and technologies in the future to further strengthen our pivotal position in Europe as we enter the next millennium".

Pitchford's electronics production career began as UK sales manager for Hollis Europe in Kent for seven years before its acquisition by ELECTROVERT in 1993. He was then promoted to European regional manager for ELECTROVERT with responsibilities for Scandinavia, Benelux, Eastern Europe and Ireland.

Five years ago Pitchford moved to Ireland and assisted in forming the very first Cookson Electronics Technology Centre, which at that time comprised ELECTROVERT, high-end print specialist MPM and materials giant Alpha Metals. These core companies were later joined by dispense and semiconductor firm CAMALOT following its acquisition by Cookson in 1996.

More recently, Pitchford moved to California, USA to take over ELECTROVERT's business that covered the 11 Western states. There he set up the Speedline Centre in Santa Clara which is now a major US demonstration centre of all Speedline's production lines comprising CAMALOT, MPM, ELECTROVERT, and assembly and semiconductor cleaning specialist ACCEL.

Pitchford recently returned to the UK to become the Speedline ELECTROVERT European business manager, operating from Speedline's European headquarters in Calcot, Reading.
