New UK homebuyers code introduced
The Office for Fair Trading has launched a new code of practice for the house buying process.
The Ombudsman for Estate Agents Company Ltd’s (OEA) approved code of practice offers consumers access to free dispute resolution and best practice when obtaining property valuations.
Residential letting and property management agents have also been covered by the OEA. More than 40 per cent of estate agents are currently represented by the OEA, a figure which is expected to rise to 65 per cent later this year.
