A pilot study has commenced in selected areas of Scotland in an attempt to reduce the costs of multiple surveys. House sellers in these areas can choose to commission a survey and make it available to all viewers. The eventual buyer of the home will then pay for the survey. The survey will be similar to the proposed English and Welsh HCR in that it will include an energy efficiency report but unlike the HCR it will also include a valuation.
