More than 100 non-governmental organisations representing the historic environment have recently joined forces to create a new umbrella group in a bid to raise the profile of the sector with the Government and to campaign jointly on issues of common concern. Founding members of Heritage Link include the National Trust and Friends of the Earth. The National Trust is funding the secretariat for the first year and Heritage Link has received a three-year grant of £138,000 from English Heritage.
