The RICS has written to the General Synod of the Church of England to plead the case for Chartered Surveyors to be allowed to fulfil the role of "Cathedral architects" under the 1990 Cathedrals Measure. RICS maintain that there are an increasing number of Chartered Building Surveyors with an expertise in Historic Buildings to fulfil this function.
