A recent survey conducted by J S Publications who publish the UK Register of Expert Witnesses suggests that the average fee for the preparation of surveying expert witness reports is £104 per hour and for court appearances the average daily rate is £787. The survey was conducted across a number of professional groups (Medicine and Accountancy and Banking were the only two groups where fees were greater than surveying) in December 2001 and the sample size of surveying expert witnesses was 36.
