Ground level roof construction
Ground level roof construction
Keywords: Health and safety, Roofs
An example of lateral (or should it be vertical?) thinking is Llewellyn Timber Engineering's concept of fabricating the entire roof structure of houses at ground level before craning it into place. With one in five construction related deaths occurring through falls through or off roofs, Llewellyn advocates its system on health and safety grounds, but also suggests that a totally water-tight structure can be achieved within two weeks.
