The A-Z of nanotechnology

www.azonano.com/

This web site was formed with the aim of becoming the primary nanotechnology information source for the science, engineering, and design community worldwide. It also aims to be the primary publicist of news, views and developments within the nanotechnology community.

AZoNano.com is totally focused on the needs of the end-users of nanotechnology and therefore their web site provides free access to all its data, including: new nanotechnology products, nanotechnology suppliers and companies, nanotechnology experts, nanotechnology events, publications, podcasts, videos, courses, and jobs. The site offers a Global AzoSearch and an advanced search, which is broken down by application, industry, and material.

Visually, the web site is graphically very busy and bombarded with ads, but this aesthetic distraction is quite minor compared to the tremendous value offered by this free, most comprehensive resource on nanotechnology.

Nano Sensors Group

http://nano.ece.uiuc.edu/

Research at the Nano Sensors Group of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is focused at the intersection of nanotechnology, biology, electromagnetics, and optics in order to develop technology that impacts health care, the life sciences, agriculture, and the environment.

The web site contains detailed information on the Group’s ten different research areas. There are also links to teaching and outreach, and campus, sponsors, and external links. Links to information on the Research group, publications, and conference, at the time of this writing, were broken.

The Institute of Nanotechnology

www.nano.org.uk/

The Institute of Nanotechnology (IoN) was established in January 1997 in the UK. It was one of the world’s first nanotechnology information providers and is now a global leader whose core activities are focused on education and training in nanotechnology.

The web site provides information on: what is nano; latest news which includes a news forum; events; education links; jobs, nano medicine; a link to NanoChina; books; images; and other nano links. Paid membership info to IoN and their reports are also available.

Nanotechwire.com

www.nanotechwire.com/

Nanotechwire.com is another nanotech information portal. Its homepage features the latest nanotechology news, posted by date. News items can be further navigated via 25 different nanotech categories.

There is also an alphabetical search available on nanotech companies as well as a listing of newly added companies. The events link breakdowns events by month, current, and previous shows. To submit an event, news item, or company info is free of charge.
