The new systems from Prosig are enabling engineers around the world to transform their working environment. The new version 6.1 of DATS and the new P8000 data acquisition hardware are the culmination of many years of experience distilled into the perfect package for test engineers in all areas of sound and vibration testing. Time saving scripts and standard reports guarantee consistent results for virtually all testing requirements in NVH, ride and handling, chassis dynamics, fatigue testing, comfort and standards compliance. The flexibility of DATS allows innovative investigations of the most troublesome phenomena. The implementation of new advanced testing methods can be quickly introduced into standard testing. “These are without doubt the most powerful and comprehensive products we have produced in the 28 year history of the company” said Dr Colin Mercer, Technical Director of Prosig.

DATS V6.1 brings improvements to both the interactive worksheet interface and the extensive DATS Script facility. DATS worksheets now allow better selection of which signals are processed and have many other user interface improvements. DATS Scripts have been extensively modified to include auto-complete features and helpers for functions. Collapsible code has made scripts more readable and efficient. As always, many new analysis functions are included in this new version. Chris Mason, Product Manager for the DATS software is proud of the new developments. “We have listened to comments and suggestions from our users and it's them that have shaped the new products.” he said.

The P8000 system delivers 24 bit resolution at up to 400 Ks/s. The P8000 has two dedicated, 16 times over sampled tacho input channels. The P800 also supports multiple, high precision (120 MHz) tacho inputs as well as CAN bus, thermocouple and GPS inputs.

A free demo disk with full details of the new products plus PDF versions of Prosig's “Digital signal processing tutorials” is available from www.prosig.com
