Tiny slip rings are big on performance and reliability

I.D.M. Electronics has introduced a new Mini version of its popular H-series slip-ring assemblies. Available as a six way standard or flanged version, the Mini H-series is designed to provide a compact and reliable solution in a wide range of applications where space is at a premium (Plate 2).

Plate 2 The Mini H-series

At only 12.5 mm long, the new mini version is only half the size of a standard H-series slip ring. The 10 mm diameter housing is available either with or without a 41 mm flange at one end and the three 5.5 mm diameter holes in the flange make fixing easy. Supplied with 300 mm long flying leads, the new slip rings are suitable for use in miniature electronic assemblies such as CCTV cameras and cable reeling machinery.

Rated up to 2 A and 240 V, H-series slip rings use gold plated rings, gold alloy brushes and precision ball bearings to give a maximum speed of 400 rpm. They can be used at temperatures from - 20 to +90°C.
