GrayWolf Sensing Solutions introduces a powerful new version of its DirectSense IAQ PPC kit for indoor environmental measurements. The DirectSense IAQ PPC is a pocket PC computer based system that not only makes possible accurate measurement of key indoor air quality parameters (IAQ), but also allows for extensive information from measurement locations to be input into the mobile computer, facilitating efficient, detailed reporting (Plate 7).

Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide (and other toxic gases), relative humidity, temperature, airspeed, particulates (count or concentration) and more may be displayed and data logged. Instantaneously, record data during a walk-through, or store it on timed intervals to trend measurement parameters over time. Each individual data file may also have text notes, audio notes, Word/Excel templates, graphic notes and calibration information attached. This significantly improves data collection and documentation, which is crucial for IAQ and other environmental applications.

'Sensor Tips", accessible at a tap of the screen, give information on why each parameter is measured for IAQ applications. Government and industry guidelines, basic "dos and don'ts" and sensor care specifics are also included, providing a wealth of information accessible in the field. The operator manual is loaded on the pocket PC as a .PDF file. Load government, industry or in-house documents for field access, as well.

Desktop PC software is supplied for professional analysis and reporting of data collected in the field with the pocket PC system. A probe pouch with shoulder strap enables hands-free measurement during walk-throughs, and an optional hard shell security case hides and protects the pocket PC system when left for unattended monitoring.
