After an introduction, Part 1 addresses Remote Manipulation. It comprises four chapters, which discuss topics including the Fundamentals of Online Robots; The Mercury Project: A Feasibility Study for Online Robots; and A Distributed Framework for Online Robots.

This book is enjoyable to read and is suitable for everyone, from the robotics novice to experts in the field. It covers aspects of machine vision, telematics, and networking.
