Sensirion, has launched the SHT75 digital integrated humidity and temperature sensor in a novel plug-in, high-end package (Plate 9). The narrow bridge between the sensor head and pins provides optimal thermal isolation and the high quality packaging guarantees 100 per cent interchangeability without recalibration. The reverse side of the sensor is gold-plated to ensure good heat transfer to the sensor elements and hence a response time of less than 4 s.

Plate 9 The SHT75

The SHT75 with 2 per cent RH accuracy and 0.5° temperature accuracy utilises the standard two-wire digital interface and operates from 40° to +120°C. A lower-cost, 3.5 per cent RH is also available in the same package. Each sensor is individually calibrated and this information is stored within the onboard control electronics. In the simplest form, the only external components required to use these devices is a microcontroller and a resistor.

The integrated nature of these devices, sensors, make them ideal for measurement of Dewpoint and standard applications include data-loggers, weather stations and HVAC.
