A digital camera which is constructed so that a pictorial image photographed through a lens unit and is recorded in a built-in memory or a loading memory card, is described. Such a digital camera can be provided with a liquid crystal image display unit for displaying the photographed pictorial image and hence, photography is carried out while looking at the image.
This patent describes a video still camera which is suitable for strobe flash photography and which is capable of carrying out photography without changing the angle of a user's hand holding the camera body or changing user's hand position. To achieve this the camera has a construction which allows the photographing unit that includes a lens unit and a strobe unit, to be rotated in an up-and- down direction with respect to the camera body.
