UV exposure meter assures process continuity

UV exposure meter assures process continuity

Keywords: UV, Radiometer

A compact, self-contained, battery powered radiometer that can withstand both intense UV irradiance and extremely high temperatures for performing N.I.S.T. traceable quality control measurements is available from International Light, Inc. of Newburyport, Massachusetts, U.S.A.

The IL390C Light Bug measures UV exposure in the actual harsh UV radiation environments found inside curing ovens and photoresist and printing plate exposure systems (Plate 10). Allowing the monitoring of lamp output during operation to assure process continuity, the instrument includes N.I.S.T. traceable calibration per ANSI Z.540-1 and ISO 10012-1 operates over a wide dynamic range of 1 x 10-3 to 20 w/cm2, and can withstand up to 500oC (30 sec).

Featuring a nearly perfect cosine spatial response to permit full measurements from oblique angles, the IL390C Light Bug measures only 12.7mm thick. It has a 6-digit LCD display, runs on 2 LiFl batteries which provide a typical 5 year service life, and its rugged, highly polished UV reflective detector housing is machined from solid aluminum with high "g" force mounts on all critical components.

The IL390C Light Bug is priced from $1,295. (USD), depending upon version. Literature is available upon request.
